Will Tropical Depression make it on tap around the city?

I got the Dub variants on Thursday and Other Half cans on Saturday. They're ALL good. But yes, one minute at Carton vs. 45 min wait in the blazing sun at Other Half.

Fair points! I don't think I wrote very well what I meant. By more beer I was referring to the influx of collaborations and the many interpretations that they're putting out every two weeks. I've only been in NYC for 9 months now, so perhaps this is just how summers are, but I've noticed a marked uptick since the winter months. Perhaps it's just a flawed perception!

Ha, no, I was just being too snarky. It's definitely a good time to be able to enjoy beer after moving to the city. I'd say 3 years ago it was considerably more sad. Also it looked like they added some new equipment back there. I remember the first AGE everything release with max 4 4pks ran out by 1130-1145 or so (with only 2 registers!) and this weekend Topical lasted a good while longer than that with extra registers going. They're definitely cranking out a ton of beer.

Also the beer just gets easier and easier to find around town for drafts and growler fills!

I use to think the line should run that way too, but there are more businesses on that side of the block that the line would hinder.

Does anyone know if Topical Depression is available on tap at the brewery?

As someone living in NYC, I'd rather support a brewery in my borough and wait in line than go all the way out to carton (which isn't really possible in my case).

Makes sense you only have to wait a minute when a brewery is in the middle of no where, no offense. Like not waiting is some accomplishment? Plenty of places you can get good beer without a wait, some of us just choose to do it because we like to.

To be fair, you didn't have to wait at Other Half yesterday either, unless you really really wanted Topical Depression in cans. You could walk in anytime after 12 and get all other cans, plus growlers of TD at a cheaper price than cans. No wait - I didn't even have to wait for the growler fill! I was in and out in 5 minutes.

I too wait in line at OH at times. Yesterday was just too hot for me. Lately I've been showing up at OH after noon to get beers which is awesome. It's just great that there are so many options whatever the brewery may be. I just so happen to love Carton as much as OH. And I never said it was an accomplishment to not wait in line. It's just pretty nice that's all...

true, but you also have to account for however much time it takes to get to 34th street ferry. even for me living in Chelsea that's another 10-15 minutes in an Uber, and anyone in an outer borough is gonna need a lot more time than that.

I am a fan of both places... grab stuff from both all the time and I am from Pittsburgh. The reason there is no line/wait at Carton is because they do not pre-announce releases. If something is going to be available at Carton when they open at 5pm, you'll know a few minutes ahead of time. If they pre-announced a few days early, they too would have lines like OH. They choose not to create the lines.

I am always at OH releases so I don't mind waiting and enjoying the experience. Regardless, we as consumers are living in great times and should just enjoy the beer. Let the breweries release as they see fit.

    Less complaining, more drinking.

I'm really digging the Tropical Depression, followed by Baby Diamonds.

Greenprint really surprised me in a good way. I don't typically care for beers with lime (Lime Green Galaxies was awful imo)

I liked the passion fruit taste of the Tropical Depression. Fit nicely with the heat.

Like most are saying, I think that beer is only going to improve over the next week or 2. I think the same goes for Greenprint.

Was this OH's first 4 can release? If so, I would love if they did some where it was 4 of their single hop series. Would love to grab some Citra, Mosaic, Nelson, Galaxy etc all in one release. Then the following week release some others.

    Thoughts?

Yeah I think Topical will soften up a lot within a week.

Yeah my method was to get a job at the brewery I really liked! ha!

That would be great, but it would be very difficult to acquire enough hops for each of those single hop beers.
