Fairwinds released a nice Mosaic IPA yesterday. Stopped by for one on my way home from work. It's not a hazy juice bomb but it's pretty damn good. No line either.

 

Never even heard of that place until I watched that cringe-worthy video posted on Dominion's page yesterday. Probably blare jimmy buffet and jack johnson in their taproom.

 

Didn't see that video until just now. I agree, cringe worthy for sure.

The tap room is pretty standard though. No Jimmy Buffett, regular people.

Was amazed that I was able to walk into Aslin today after 1pm and still pick up crowlers. I had given up hope! Very, very stoked to be able to take a little back to PA. It'll all be gone by Wedsneday, though. I have no willpower.

P.S. Astro Zombie is the shit. Wow.

 

Quite good. They also re-formulated Howling Gale. Now Simcoe, Citra, and Mosaic with two dry-hops additions. Quite good

 

Hoping to swing by Aslin Thursday evening and grab some crowlers. As crazy as it sounds, I have a job, so I won't be able to be there at 3. Any chance I can get there at 8 and still get most of the beers available on a Thursday? Haven't been out that way yet, and I'm just hoping to be able to get some of the newish kid on the block.

 

They are only allowing take out for one beer this Thurs and it's a Berliner. I'd say your chances of getting a crowler at 8 have never been better.

They will have everything else available for pours.

So basically Thursday is kinda the worst day you could possibly go. Do you know if they will be releasing more crowlers on Friday? I could go Friday instead.

 

I remember the good ole days (of April 2016) when I could go in on a Weds and get a beer with little crowd and pick up a growler/ crowler as well... Ah the good ole days....

 

They haven't been doing crowlers on Fridays, and they probably won't have any new releases that day anyway.

This isn't correct. They're also releasing a Triple IPA (Pew Pew Pew), so there is little chance you'll get crowlers.

 

Your thinking that could be Thursday? I figured I'd keep an eye on social media thursday morning. I would go for Pew Pew Pew

 

they already announced via facebook this morning that Pew Pew Pew is Thursday, pours only, no crowlers.

 

First time at Fair Winds this weekend and I was impressed. Three very good IPA's. Really liked the Seesions in the Abyss session ipa. Not word class mind you, but at $3.75 for a 32 oz growler fill (on Wed only) with no lines vs. $14 at Aslin on Thurs with long lines, I know where I'm heading.

 

That is a great deal, but our crowler prices on Thursday will be $12. They will be $14 if we Double Dry Hop, barrel age/ferment, or Dry Hop plus Fruit addition. The reason for the $2 increase is because of the high quality ingredients we use.

 

So Berliner is the only crowler on Thursday? Gotta ask. I haven't been out yet.

 

Yes, we are releasing the Triple IPA, but only crowlers of the Berliner.

 

Geography also plays a role for me in that thought. Live 10 mins from Fair Winds, 40 from Aslin. Still will come by Asling for the house pours on weeekends. Thanks for saving a good amount for house pours!
