Hah. I love me some Fat Heads, CBC, and TBK for hops, but Hoof is definitely my favorite. Only issue is the hour 45 drive.

 

Hoof makes good stuff. I wouldn't debate that. But in no way shape or form do I crave them when I want an awesome, local hoppy options. That crown would go to Fat Heads and CBC. With Brew Kettle slightly behind. I've been told that trying JABF could change those rankings for me, but they aren't exactly something I can go and grab off of the shelf either.

Hoof is getting there, but I'm eat crow if they EVER make something as world class as Hop Juju.

 

Not going to lie, I was pretty underwhelmed when I hit up JAFB a few weeks ago after the Konkey Dong release. I tried the following:
RFG Pale Ale
Getaway IPA
New Stunt XXIII
Wooster New Stout
Rain Delay IPA
Colombian Coffee Porter

 

I'm going to be out in the Columbus area Monday 08-22 and Tuesday 08-23. Is Hoof Hearted open on either Monday or Tuesday? If so what time do they open? Thanks.

Edit: go to the Wolf's Ridge taproom instead. Open Tuesdays.

 

Yeah thanks. I already knew the brew pub wasn't going to be open. Wolf's Ridge is already in the large list of options. Fortunately Columbus has a lot of different places open to choose from and every food joint seems to have different craft options on tap.

 

My favorite place in Columbus is easily Wolf Ridge. Fantastic beer, food is exceptional and the staff is awesome as well.

 

Wow, hoof is killing it lately. This batch of Musk is the best yet. Our group crushed I don't know how many on draft, it was so good! Well done Hoof!

 

I agree Musk Of The Minotaur IPA is top notch tastes like orange juice super crushable my favorite hoof hearted beer to date well done hoof!!!

 

I'm assuming Hoof is taking this weekend off?

Think they'll have any Musk or Dancing in Ruins cans for sale too?

I would say it's unlikely. They have a pool party at the brewpub soon-- those cans will likely end up there.

 

So the way it has been going with Hoof beers this summer... best Roller Blabe yet? I am debating whether to travel up or not.

 

I agree that this batch of Musk is incredibly good. Had a glass of Dancin' and thought it was just ok...Bruery's Or Xata wins the horchata beer contest for me.

Looking forward to more Blabe!

 

When I went right before 5 they had about maybe 1 to 2 cases left of musk

 

Is or xata on the shelves in Ohio anywhere

 

All over cincy - i would have assumed similar throughout the state
