Junior's last day of summer break. I don't ever remember starting school this early when I was a kid.

Morning. I have been up ALL night. ALL NIGHT. Ok here we go.

    Jack's Abby Copper legend.

I love this time of the year. The fall beers come out and with them the oktoberfest. The style that took the beer world by storm last year is back to show you that they CAN do it again. I had a choice between a sixer of great lakes and this. This was one dollar more and pint cans,. I chose this one and I dented that can myself when I dropped it.

Pours beautifully . Clear and golden yellow. Soft creamy head that lasts. I even got it to do that one graceful bubble over the rim. Call the magazines I am ready to start photographing.

Nose has no caramel, so important, no fruity esters, no real hop aroma, no diacetyl, no dms, Rich malt lightly toasty. A light crisp sweetness from malt mixed with a restrained floral form hop. Perfect!

Pleasant malty beer. Clean and the floral and spice from hop surprises the palate to your delight. They give you just a quick glimpse before the Munich malt finishes the beer a little toasty. it's like they put a humorous bit of color into the flavor . Rich and flavorful with a light hops bitter to linger just long and strong enough. Cheers!

PS - just to show you I really was sniffing, I like to tell you what fruit I thought the ester might be even if it is not on the nose or palate. I do that to show you how easily prominent those can become. In this one I think it's grape or dark fruit.

    Cheers BA!

Since yesterday AM, I've had FBS, a vanilla flavored wheat, a barrel aged chocolate barleywine, and a regular barleywine. So....
    I need HOPS, dammit!

    Ahhhhh....thank you.

Sorry if I seem to be in the mood for posting maudlin songs this morning. Have a good day anyway, advocates.

Good morning BAs! Today is starting off sunny here in NW PA and the construction continues unabated! With a little good luck, they should be done by this weekend. Today's New Breakfast Beer is the lone survivor from NBS BIF #3, courtesy of @superspak:

Thanks, fellow Illinoisan. I have no idea if the school year starting for Jr and the Mrs will mean I'll be posting earlier than anyone more or less. Think it depends on some of our European brethren or the sleep habits of us American advocates. Either way, I look forward to being a proud member of the AMBA contingent!
