Stone Enjoy By UNFILTERED

I'm hoping to see the 6-packs (and not just bombers) here in Chicago.

 

Agreed, although I'd take either at this point. I'm getting more and more paranoid about Enjoy By, given that Citracado is already a bunch of places. Stone's site claims Enjoy By should be all over at this point...

 

Could this be another distributor issue? Although it's strange that Citracado is around and not Unfiltered.

 

Stone's beer locator (http://www.stonebrewing.com/beer/stone-enjoy-ipa-series/stone-enjoy-090516-unfiltered-ipa) is typically pretty accurate, so it appears you'll be seeing it soon.

That being said, Stone seems to be alternating distribution for some of these releases. The previous Enjoy By tangerine release never made it to my area in south-east Michigan, but it did make it to the west-side of the state. Thankfully we are received the Unfiltered last week and it's as delicious as it was last time around.

Seems like a really late release for a 9/5 Enjoy By.

 

Yup, very weird. Stone's website lists Citracado as an August 8th release, I picked one up today. Enjoy By was supposedly an August 1st release, no sign of it as of yet.

 

I was at the Binny's Oakbrook today when the distributor for Stone happened to be in the store. I asked about Unfiltered and he said it was only coming to Chicago on draft this round and no bottles hit the warehouse. I hope he's wrong as I'd like to grab a couple as well. FWIW they had just put Citracado on the shelf.

 

Every place I have talked to (multiple Binny's and small shops) has given me the same response: it ain't coming to Chicago (in bottles at least). Such a bummer!

 

Well, that sucks. The Binny's Lakeview guy told me a couple weeks back that they were expecting it at anytime, but perhaps he was not well informed. I guess it's better for my wallet, as I've tried to put a hiatus on buying beer for awhile (since I've got enough to last me for quite some time), but this one was going to be an exception.

 

While $16.99 is a bit hard to swallow, I bought two singles (24 oz.) for $6.00 in SE Michigan while the bombers at the same store ran $7.99. I know that it's all comparative perspective, but this made me feel better about paying the $6.00....and I enjoyed every last ounce!!! (but I've been enjoying Best By repeatedly for quite some time

 

I've enjoyed all "Enjoy By's" but I must confess that I also really liked how the Tangerine turned out and have this as my favorite thus far...

 

@StoneBrewingCo you mentioned in another thread that it is up to the distributor and when they order. If only draft is coming to Chicago, does this mean the Chicago distributor was only interested in draft rather than including package (bombers or six packs) as well? Or that they just ordered late and package options were no longer available and only draft was left? Just curious why the Chicago distributor only ordered draft for the Unfiltered. A bit of a bummer. Thanks.

 

In other words, who should we kill for this grave mistake?

I'm still hoping Stone's site is telling the truth about where it'll be...

 

I'll hold out hope it hits here in some form to try. If not, I'll have a last resort chance in MI to try and grab any in a couple weeks if any is remaining.

 

Basically: potentially both. If they ordered late, then kegs may have been the only thing available. They may have also decided that draft beer moves better than bottled and made the choice intentionally.

Haha. Either way we know where to place blame. Hasn't been a banner week for Chicago area distributors

 

For anyone looking or near it, apparently World of Beer in Evanston has this on tap, or at least they did on Wednesday based on Beer Menus. I'm hoping it pops up soon a little bit closer.

For anyone in MI - is this still available on shelves? I'm heading to SW MI for Labor Day, and wondering if I might be able to grab some just before its Enjoy By date.
