I have mailed growlers to a buddy in Chicago multiple times and not once have they ended up flat or bad. That is sitting on a truck and warehouses mind you so if your buddy has it in a car in a cooler or AC, yes you are fine.

To me (and some others in the normal TH threads), it's been diacetyl type flavoring. It's not nearly as "juicy" as it once was, and much more bitter.

I too experienced the diacetyl issue in one batch of HopHands. I also experienced diacetyl this past Friday at a local beer bar with Tired Hands Difficult Crystalline Motif.

Something seems to be amiss at the Tired Hands Brewery.

    Cheers!

It's strange, though, because HopHands is indeed more bitter and less juicy than before, but then they're still putting out other hoppy beers that taste fine. Grassman is maybe the best DIPA they've ever made.

Also, some of their bottled stuff, like Roomarak, is taking on a noticably lambic-like quality, albeit muted from what you'd get in a good gueuze or 2 year old fruited lambic. I'd like to see them try a gueuze project, aging things for years and then blending in with younger stuff, like Allagash did with Coolship Resurgam

I hope with their new barrel location they can do that. Their barrel saisons are great and keep getting better.

Sounds like another quick and easy release. Very glad things are settling down! Wonder if we'll get another bizarre milkshake tapping this week? That zucchini one was unique...

I wasn't super crazy about high road honestly. I think I'm going to sit this one out and finish up my back log of random cans I still have.

How is your backlog of canned beers holding up? How are you storing them (in the fridge)?

    Cheers!

Pretty good. Most of my back log is actually gatherer so I'd imagine that will hold up well.

I did have my last kalamansi milkshake the other day and it definitely was not as good as it was when it was fresh. Still enjoyable to drink though.

I thought the Kalamansi fell off a cliff after about 6 weeks. Not quite a drain pour but getting there.

I love High Road but will be sitting this one out after hitting 2 of the last 3.

I'm going to do the same thing.

Yeah it's not as great as it was fresh. Now it tastes sweet and there's chunks of yeast floating in it. Passionfruit still kicks ass though, somehow.

HH cans have seemed a bit "musky" to me recently.

Strategy advice guys. I live close (CC philly) but never am able to get out if work in time for most of these releases. Today that actually isn't that case! Hooray! So to minimize total time waiting, is it better to line up a bit before, or is that when the line is the longest time wise. If a little later start is much faster, I'm willing to risk getting shut out, it's not a major concern.

Go inside... have a beer and some food. Go buy your beer at 6pm when there is no line.

no need to wait in line, I'd say show up anytime between 5 and 6 to be very safe but my personal guess is that the cans last into the night.

Case limit for HopHands and three 4 packs High Road. 170 cases HopHands, 150 High Road. I would get there by 5 just to be safe, but 6 is probably okay.
