There is a lot of price gouging in Michigan . I have found some stores around the Detroit area that are not gouging too much but I was just in Livonia where I found the biscotti cans for 9 a piece . They probably think because they were charging 22 a bomber they can't let the cans go even close to a good deal. I'm tired of the Michigan stores screwing us, most store owners don't have a clue about craft beer. I was at a store where a bunch of stouts where cold and a bunch of ipas where on the shelf haha I don't get it . I pretty much won't buy hoppy beers around there unless I know they are fresh .

Holy smokes. That is insane. More than double the price of what I've seen in IL so far.

That's insane. I live in NY where EVERYTHING is overpriced and both EMJ and IBB were both $14.99 per four pack.

EMJ for 22.99 a pack and Biscotti for 29.99...

My friend is bringing me back a couple cans from california that were $4 per...

Also imperial doughnut break was 19.99 for the bomber and Une Mas Jesus was 12.99 for the 12 oz. no idea how that compares to normal. I can guarantee i bought NONE of that.

The pricing people are posting is ridiculous. Even if some distros are buying it for more, there's no way they're buying it for double what other states pay.

Evil twin is ridiculously priced here for sure. I have never bought it for that reason. We just got it in Lansing and I doubt it will sell.

Yeah in Michigan it will just sit on shelves. Too much money. Not many non barrel aged beers are worth 9 bucks a 16 oz

Awesome. Will probably stop at Josephs again if I end up going down there. They had a very nice selection/prices.

I wonder if that shop started with a 'T' and ended with a 'ffanys', as that shop is ridiculous when comes to mark up.

Surprised the usual argument hasn't started yet, justifying these stupid prices!

Pricing beers is so convoluted, I've personally thrown in the towel trying to figure it out. Three tier this, three tier that, cost of goods excuse, etc. Approach it as a "Luxury Consumer Good" or you'll drive yourself nutz (lol, just like I did with some prices).

**For example: I saw Mikkellers Beer Geek Breakfast last month priced at $5.99. Then last weekend, I saw in same part of town priced at $13.99! (yes, same exact beer)

Just a few weeks ago here in Livingston county there was a beer store who had a 4 pk of regular Scotty karate for 23 dollars! The last time I bought the same 4 pk it was 7.99 at a grocery store.

They must have though it was the BB version? I have seen that as high as 22 (which is batshit crazy too, last one i bought was 11...)

As far as i know regular scotty is 7.50 at my store.

ET beers are so expensive in MI because it goes through 4 tiers instead of three. I can't buy it directly from 12% ("importer"), it has to (by state law) go through a local distributor before I can buy it for my store. So it goes from Brewer>Importer>Distributor>Retail. The more hands it passes through, the more its gonna cost. MI has some bullshit laws regarding distro.

Was just down in Toledo a few weeks back. Had the chance to grab both EMJ and Biscotti Break for $13.99. I actually passed on it. Decided to get some Yeti instead. Dont have that back home. Can buy Evil Twin anytime. If I have the extra money to blow.:grinning:
