Good morning BA, have a great Saturday! Going to the Michigan homebrew fest today, so it should be a really nice fun day. Hopefully the rain holds off until later in the evening. Beers this morning:

Amazing Gose as always. Flavors of big sour cherry, lemon, lime, green apple, wheat, cracker, coriander, sea salt, herbal, grass, and yeast earthiness. Nice sized fruity/lactic sour finish; balanced cherry/lacto acidity, salinity, and light grainy wheat creaminess in the mouthfeel. Highly drinkable despite higher acidity. I wish this was year round. So much fantastic sour cherry flavor for the low ABV.

Awesome pale ale! Glad we get these in the 6 packs now. Flavors of big grapefruit, tangerine, peach, pineapple, passion fruit, mango, lemon zest, orange peel, and pine hops; with some light honey/toasted bready malt; and herbal/floral/grassy hop earthiness. Good amount of pine/citrus rind bitterness on the finish. Very crisp and sticky/resinous mouthfeel with light grainy creaminess. Zero hop astringency despite aggressive bitterness. Love it! Will have to get more really soon.

This is really great stuff. Flavors of big grapefruit, tangerine, pineapple, peach, passion fruit, mango, and light pine; balanced honey, cracker, biscuit malt; and herbal/floral/grassy hop earthiness. Light-moderate herbal/spicy bitterness with slight fruit tartness on the finish. Medium bodied; balanced grainy creaminess and hop stickiness in the mouthfeel. Lightly drying from hop bitterness on the finish through the glass. Refreshing and fairly crisp. Really spot on for a pale ale. Really well balanced, and really doesn't feel like a fruit beer. Not overloaded on the fruits, but enough to meld well against the hop character.

Great English winter warmer! Big flavors of raisin, plum, fig, cherry, pear, apple, caramel, brown sugar, molasses, toasted biscuit, and light nutty/roast maltiness; with moderate herbal, floral, pepper, piney hop notes; with a bit of yeasty earthiness. Light-medium pine/spicy bitterness; very smooth with balanced creaminess and hop stickiness in the mouthfeel. This keeps getting better and better with more age. Perfectly balanced between malt, yeast, and hop flavors now after 10 months since bottling. I can still get this in a lot of places; it still sits on the shelf. I definitely prefer it aged over fresh. Awesome complexity.

    Cheers

This band is amazing. Hope they release a new LP soon. Been almost 5 years since this debut release. If you love Djent Prog metal, definitely worth a look.

New LP coming in October, can't wait. It will be amazing. One of the best debut albums I've ever heard.

Still night here, but from earlier in the day for me, got home from work and had Lanikai Brewing's Mango Bomb. An IIIPA brewed with an insane amount of local mangoes, and weighs in at 11.4%. It's like biting into a mango, crazy juicy. A small brewery here, that's always got something solid coming out in small batches.

They've got an impressive barrel space, for such a small brewery too.

Met some friends out, had a new local IPA from Beer Lab HI. I.PILS.P.A, it's an East Coast Style, pretty good. Probably one of the prettiest beers I've had from here. Though Beer Lab HI is the NKOTB, I really like what they are doing. Most of their beers are single releases, so in the short time they've been open, they've had a ton of different beers.

Some shots from a couple hikes I went on this past week. Always finding something new here.

Next up, a session IPA by Remmarlövs Bryggeri in Sweden. Decent, slightly watery feel...

Off to a bottle release north of here and then maybe a stop at a local brewery after (thanks for the tip, @joe1510)! Like @superspak said, hopefully the rain holds off for a while. Cheers and happy Saturday, advocates!

An early Friday night usually means Saturday speedily gets underway with a coffee stout:

Ok, that was weak, but hey! It's early!! :flushed:

This has been cellared since I found them at my local grocery chain store for under $10 about maybe 9-10 months ago. Little less coffee, little more alcohol, and a hint of an off note that is oxidation-like. Not huge complaints, but probably should have this a little fresher next time (the one after the next and last bottle I have from the same purchase).

I was excited when AleSmith started delivering here, as this was a big want. It's definitely a bold stout - I recall it being more bitter with coffee when it was fresher. Have to get that other bottle out of the way soon .

At this rate, I'll be absolutely hammered by the time most of BA is even awake! Now it's time for Swedish Chef IPA, a collab between Swedish Brekeriet and Angry Chair from Tampa. Really good brett IPA, brewed with grapefruit, which is very apparent in the aftertaste.
