Thanks man, would love that. I'll be back sooner than later. Possibly for zwanze. If you find yourself in Hollywood or anywhere in LA really, let me know and I'd like to do the same !

Thanks, but, I think that would mean I'd died and gone to hell. I'm just not a big city type person. Hell, my "city" of 80k-ish folks seems a bit crowded a lot of days. Appreciate the offer though buddy!

Still looking for 4 12 bottle shippers anywhere around Portland if anyone can help. My flight leaves in a few hours and I haven't heard back from John about coming to west linn.

Gonna be in Portland for a couple days during the week. Any suggestions on what area I should stay in?

Great Notion is my top destination.

Any random show/rock venues suggested would be great.

Other than GN, what are you looking for in terms of lodging? Cheap hotel, AirBnB, room for multiple people or just you? We have everything from $30/night hostels to $300/night hotels downtown.

As for shows, check the following event calendars and see if anything strikes your fancy:

    PDX Pipeline

    Portland Mercury

    Willamette Week

thanks for the reply. my flight was very very very early this morning. I ended up paying cascade $15 a piece for 4 shippers...who knew they sold beer shippers lol. they must make a killing though, they arent even the sytro shippers they are selling.

Looking for AirBnB, just myself. Unless hostels are recommended as a fun way to meet people also visiting.

Thanks for the links. I'll definitely check out those calendars.

Plenty of AirBnB's in the Alberta area. Depending on what else you want to do, might be better off getting a spot in innner SE, where you could walk to more stuff. That said, getting around is super easy, and you could Uber or TriMet to other spots.

I've never been there when they didnt have something available to go. That being said, their fruited wild ales are particularly popular, so no guarantees on the purple. For that matter, for all we know they may release something else this weekend. Point being, there will almost certainly be something to go, but it's impossible to say with any certainty what it's going to be. Good luck and have fun.

If you're a facebook user I'd suggest checking their page this afternoon. They typically post a photo of their menu board showing what will be available to go (with limits) when the tasting room opens on Thursday.

And keep in mind that the De Garde tasting room will be closed on August 27.

    Hah, my bad.

She brought crowlers of Fat Head's Head Hunter IPA, IBUsive and a BumbleBerry Honey Blueberry ale for herself. The crew just stumbled into Fat Head's looking for dinner. I had no idea they had a brewery in Portland.

She then went to baileys taproom and got me a few cans of Block 15 sticky hands (great looking cans by the way) and a bottle of Perennial Sump.

I personally would have liked to try more of the local stuff, since Portland seems to have an amazing beer culture. But after her visit to Portland it looks like we're changing our November Chicago trip to a November Portland trip, she was fascinated by both the city and the people. So it looks like I might have another chance to explore the local scene .

Portland people are definitely fascinating... Too bad about Chicago, though. Keep it on your list for a summer visit...

Stopped in to Portland wine storage to get a shipper, they didn't have any 12 bottle shippers but they gave me 2 six bottle shippers for $5 total. Nice guys there, thanks for the heads up!
