Like I mentioned in another post- another issue is not dating the cans. I understand that the OP had them fresh from the Alchemist, however when I stated the taste was different the last couple times, I received Heady Topper second hand, so have no idea when it was canned.

When i talked to Jenn while waiting in line a few weeks ago she said Petite will be released in bottles and that john has been tweaking the recipe extensively.

People will ask how is that possible? Well on Saturday, folks were parking at nearby businesses and walking through the field to lineup before they opened the parking lot.

The owners can't win and that behavior hurts those who follow the instructions. Always will be people skirting the rules.

Based on my experience today, at least on a weekday, there's no reason to show up before the 10:00 opening time. The first person on line saved, at most, 20 minutes of waiting time (not including how much before 10 they waited). People who showed up at the 11:00 opening time had virtually no wait.

This has been my experience too. Also, late afternoon if you just want some Focal has worked great for me.

It's close to 4 o'clock and according to the Alchemist website, Crusher is still available.

I'm about 10 minutes out. Hoping Luscious lasts a few more minutes.

I have read through a lot of these fine post regarding their experiences. I have family heading up in September and hitting VT just for great beer. Unfortunately their itinerary lands them there on Saturday. Quick question. Know their both crazy on those days but should they hit up alchemist first then go to HF? Or vise Versa? They really want some heady in their mix and match (limit 2 per case).

    Thanks.

Definitely Alchemist first. The situation at HF is much improved with the new setup, and even if there's something big on the shelves you should still have a great time rolling in mid-afternoon.

Alchemist, on the other hand, is likely to sell out of Heady most Saturdays for a while.

The ideal schedule is to get to Alchemist right as the lot opens at 10. You'll be out by 11:30, and can get to HF a little after the "official" open at noon (really, they'll have been open for half an hour or more). Should still be plenty of great on site bottles, and they may even have worked through the opening rush.

Helps a lot. That's what I was figuring reading everything but just wanted a confirmation. Thanks again.

If they really want Heady - one thing I did on my trip was stop at Hunger Mountain Co-op in Montpelier at 8 AM. They put out a few cases of Heady every morning right at 8AM. And have killer breakfast sandwiches. The limit is 1 4 pack per person. So a couple could grab 8 Heady Toppers. This is 30 minutes away from Alchemist, and since you can't go to Stowe until 10, it's a good use of time. Would depend on where they're coming from obviously.

When I went to Stowe, I got 3 4-packs of focal and just 1 4-pack of heady because I had done this.

Since you're already going to the brewery, why not leave the local distribution to locals?
