New to Ohio (2016)

Taphouse posted their beer list today and I don't see Juju. Wouldn't surprise me if they held off until Thursday or don't put it on their online taplist at all.

 

I'm pretty surprised FH would chose Canton for a new location when they already have one in N Olmsted and Middleburg. I would have thought if they were going to open a third spot in OH that it would have been Columbus or even further south into Cinci.

 

It is listed on the saloon draft list. $24 growlers. Thinking about a 2 hr road trip tonight

 

Just curious since I haven't made my way to Woodburn yet (and hadn't heard the change from a 8/26 official opening to already being open), who would you say they've skyrocketed past already? And what are your thoughts on Nine Giant?

 

What's this about a fat head's opening in Canton?

 

Hopefully it's real. Almost an hour closer for me. I will take Columbus too!

 

They were having issues with the pricing of it yesterday. It should be $20 ($23-$3 Mon-Wed discount).

 

Was told that Homestead have some Bourbon barrels filled with Bison right now. If everything goes well it should be ready around mid December. Really liked Bison last year so I'm looking forward to this.

 

I think that $23 was a typo, it's listed at $24 today. I paid $21 yesterday too

 

As far as Canton goes, I was told Beldon Village Mall. I think someone at the taphouse mentioned this a while ago but it didn't stick... i was buzzed.

Fat Head's makes great beer but their business decisions are weird.

I believe that's right, they r starting to do barrels. Right now they got wine barreled ten penny Amber on tap.

 

TORIS, 13.8%, is releasing August 31st on Hoppin' Frog's 10 year anniversary, with Senator Faber and his gavel making an appearance on the 26th.

 

How is this legal if it doesn't kick in until 8/31?

 

The way I read that article, In-Ten-Sity is releasing that day, with TORIS to come later.

I would think a Canton location would be similar to the Pittsburgh location. Serves and sells FH brews but it is not brewed at the location. If my guess is right, the Canton location would be a shorter drive for me but I would still prefer to drive to Middleburg Heights or NO.

 

I didn't ask about that, but I was assuming they would have some brewing going on there. Your guess is as good as mine.

I am a bit bummed that the new priduction facility will be another ho hum, full service shit show like NO. I love the Taphouse and its low key atmosphere. Oh well

 

What's happening to the tap room? I'm out of the loop.

 

They're moving to new digs down the street. Probably won't be done for quite some time.

 

It's 12.99 a bottle for a 13.8% 22 oz. bottle. I would say that's a pretty good deal.
