Hey guys, I'm going to a wedding in PA but have decided to fly into JFK to hit up some breweries and beer bars before. I figure I'll be able to realistically hit maybe 6-7 while passing through. A couple Im thinking about hitting up are finback, hops hill, torst, threes brewing, sixpoint, LIC beer project, and other half...

Any other suggestions? I'm willing to drive a little bit if its worth it.

Not if you are going to breweries in NYC itself. Flying into Newark would make for an easier drive to Honesdale. There are a number of breweries along RT 80 in North NJ but they are opened for limited hour mostly on weekends.

    S
Sixpoint doesn't have a brewery. 6 or 7 places in a day is very ambitious especially the ones you mention as they are spread out. How are you getting from place to place?

Going from JFK to Honesdale, it actually looks like you probably want to hit up DeCicco's more than anything else with there being a few on the way.

Their bottle selections are incredible, they frequently have great beers on for growler fills, and 2 are very easily en route for you, in particular Ardlsey.

Other than that, Barrier is just a bit east (20 minutes) of JFK and Money is as good as any other NYC (area) ipa. Finback is kind of there. You could probably do LIC and SIngleCut with some going out of your way, but I wouldn't mess with Brooklyn.

Yeah I like this play. If you're strapped for time, you can scrap Barrier, because you're going in the opposite direction, but it's worth a trip if you can make it. But yeah you could do something like -

Land JFK -> Grab a couple slices at New Park Pizza -> Up Cross Bay/Woodhaven Blvd to Finback -> Astoria for SingleCut and LIC Beer Project -> Greenpoint for Torst and Brouwerij Lane -> DeCicco's on your way up for bottles and growler fills. Hopefully you will have someone else to DD for you or else you'll have to cut way back on this, lol.

Also depends on what day you are coming, depending on day of the week some places will not be open at all or open late in the day.
