Finback Brewery (2018)

I'm curious about this coffee IPA. People seem to be going nuts over it, and while the coconut IPA was great, I cant help but feel like any coffee flavor might be muted by the hops.

 

I don't know if you've ever tried Dayman by Stone or Java Power by Ithaca but both of those coffee IPAs were class as far as I'm concerned. The coffee was most definitely there. Hopsomniac by Captain Lawrence was a solid IPA too. I'm definitely intrigued by the thought of Finback doing one.

 

Bit late here, but yeah, sold out @ the brewery as of Saturday afternoon. They still had 4pks of Oscillation 5, and Smooth Beats on tap (no growler fills though).

I wish it was easier to get to from the UES by mass transit. Really want to try that Moss. Hopefully some kegs pop up around town.

 

Looks like I will be close to Finback Saturday! How crazy are their releases, hoping to grab 3 or 4 4-packs?

 

Not crazy at all.

There's probably some line at release, but cans last for days up to a week. Stroll by a bit after opening and I'm sure you'll be fine.

Man... did anyone go to this release? I got there at 1:20 after going to Other half and LICBP and there was no line. I def got my fix today

 

I was there around 3pm yesterday, also no line and plenty of beer. I kinda prefer Oscillation 005 over MOSS (Oscillation 3.1) though.

 

This current batch of Oscillation is as good of an IPA as I have ever had.

 

005 is fantastic, picked up 2 cans at my local store the other day.

 

So, is there any hope for me going on Sunday to get anything at all? I had one of the versions of Oscillation and it was fantastic.

Thank you! I keep forgetting that breweries routinely will use Beermenus (New Jersey breweries seem to be allergic to it other than Carton)

 

When I was there last week I believe they had 4 or 5 cans available. You will have a decent selection on Sunday.

 

they had 005 (which at this point was canned almost a month ago) and 003 that they renamed as Moss which was released last Saturday when i visited. i would recommend trying them both on draft first - passed on both after doing so. maybe they're better in cans...

 

They posted a photo to Instagram yesterday around 7:30pm saying the Coffee IPA was being released Saturday but then took it down. Anybody know what's up?

 

Also curious how delayed Procrastination (coffee IPA) is

I got a four pack on Sunday. I didn't even realize it was a Proclamation/Finback collab until I got home. I just knew I was buying a coffee IPA and was IN. Also, had it... I am still IN.
