Pittsburgh - New Beers & Local Breweries

I believe the pounder cans are made at Two Roads. The Biscotti and Jesus cans are some of the best values in town.

Also, just got back from Bierport and picked up two cans of Pizza Boy's Hater's Tears. Canned yesterday.

 

Two Roads also does Sip of Sunshine right?

 

Yep. I've never had OG Sip, but the Two Roads cans really made me wonder what people see in that beer. It's just so pedestrian. I'm sure the Lawson's versions are much better (if they still exist?).

Also, the PB Hater's Tears was canned yesterday. Pretty awesome.

 

Apparently Trax Farms carries Steel City stuff--while I'm glad because it's close, out of pure curiosity I'm inclined to ask how this happened. You got friends there @Tedwarhc ? Either way, thanks for the South Hills(ish) love.

 

OG Sip from a bomber tasted like a better version of Heady/Abrasive to me. Cans are not the same.

 

Has that place always had beer? Or is it a result of the recent change in laws that says breweries and the like can sell their beers at farmer's markets?

I know nothing about Trax Farms and thought it was the most interesting place to get PB cans.

 

Ive had both the CT cans and VT cans.
There is (was?) some noticeable difference fir me at least. Maybe it was just the VT air. Idk. OG ftw.

Ive got friends everywhere Just kidding, we have just been on the streets going everywhere that sells craft beer. I believe she may have contacted us directly requesting to carry it.

I live a mile from Trax. Never even considered looking there for beer. Assumed it was typical blue moon etc. Is the selection actually good?

This could be the best thing to happen to me since moving from the city to peters!

 

Selection used to be terrible until steel city started distributing there. Pretty good selection right now.

 

This is my impression as well, as it's close to my house and the few times I've been there I was more interested in their maple syrup than their "craft" beerz. Do they still have the sign outside that boasts Blue Moon?

Yes. They have a sandwich there that is vegetarian. Called something like "everything in the garden" or something. add bacon and turkey to it. Its dope.
