This is exactly what I am talking about, there is more to beer than having to get something so specific as the latest DIPA canned two hours ago. If this is what you want to do, great for you, but enjoying great beer doesn't require running around the city for a can or two or waiting in line for hours.

Here is a little hint for you, doesn't meet your strict requirements, but next time Billy Full Stack comes out, stroll into brewery, wait in no line, grab as many bottles as you want and drink an awesome local DIPA. It isn't in a can, but as good or better as many of the local beers out now.

Thanks for the English lesson. If you feel put down by a simple statement I make on how I feel about what I consider "madness" of craft beer, you may need to check your self esteem.

Headed to grammaradvocate.com to brush up on my grammar skills.

Yeah, but Singlecut bottles also costs more than many people are willing to pay (at least without griping). The double IPAs are always at least $8 at the cheapest spots in the city (Whole Foods usually), and cost $10+ at the typical non-gouger beer stores.

I love drinking Singlecut on draft, but I just won't spend the money when there are other options available. Those 0.9 ounces just aren't worth the extra $5 over a similar canned offering from a local brewery.

Yeah, their prices are definitely on the high side for sure, not sure why. When I first started going there before local craft scene went nuts, thought their growler prices were way too high for the quality, but really like some of their beer now and it is so easy to get.

Singlecut just got a tap takeover at Blackback Pub in downtown Waterbury, VT. That's freaking insane. Last time I was there it was basically 8 lines of HF, 3 of Lawsons, and a smattering of other phenomenal local VT stuff. Pretty incredible.

Damn this thread has gone off the rails today.

Just about all of Grimm's beers have a different quality than most other New York breweries which is why I'm willing to go a couple places to end up with 3-7 cans.

Singlecut in particular is good and is one of the best breweries in the city, but I find most of their IPAs lack a similar complexity.

My self esteem is doing great, thanks. Just annoyed by the self appointed craft beer etiquette police, which you seem to be a part of.

I don't see how any of this is "madness". Its a good time to like beer but it's also getting real old to hear people like you crowing about this "madness".

Now that we're having fun again, anyone try WFCC this afternoon? Wondering if I should swing by on my way home from work.

Thoughts on this batch of After Image? Better than the previous, on par?

Not going to derail this thread any more. You are right, great time to be a craft beer fan now, 2 or 3 years ago this area was a wasteland for great beer, now tons of it.

We will agree to disagree on the madness part of it, this hobby like others brings out the best in people, but it also brings out some crappy behavior in people, that is the part of it that puts me off. It is happening all over the country, enthusiasm for beer is one thing, but too many people crossing over the line.

I think this is the best batch so far. Real smooth and juicy (are we allowed to say that?)

Sorry but I'm with @jrnyc on this 100%.

You don't think this shit is fairly ridiculous?

It's great that we have some amazing NYC breweries now (compared to a few years ago). And the fact that for a lot of these outfits, demand is going to vastly outweigh supply - that's totally cool if that's what allows them to produce the small batch, high quality beers that are getting released. And if I never pick up a can because I lack the commitment to get there first, it's still totally worth it - we all have differing levels of priorities - plus i can almost always try the same beer at many of the local bars (or at the brewery itself in some cases) so really in that sense I rarely care.

But when you have the usual shit of people going from store to store to store, and picking up as much as possible - whether that's for trading, for taking pictures of, for spreading the wealth out in NJ, or even (gasp) for drinking - and then we have to read about it on an "advocacy" site - it's just a bit pathetic IMO. Grimm or OH or Singlecut threads - they should be about discussing the merits/news of the brewery and its beers IMO. Not a Pokemon-type acquisition thread

Definitely digging this latest batch of Afterimage. Even better than I remember it being. Super soft. Tastes like a cotton candy covered ripe orange. Grimm continues to amaze!

How the hell do you post a FT on BA? I did it here and got deleted and been trying to do it the right way since. Im sure it's easy, but getting frustrated. When I go to the help page it just talks me through the steps and the link to "get started" sends me to the feedback page without a link for me to post anything. Will this post get deleted too for being in the wrong forum? I only ask this here because the help link has no way for me to leave a question and does not seem to send me to the right place. Any help would be appreciated! Thanks.

You're in the wrong forum. It's frowned up to post trade requests in these threads, as you found out. You'll need to go to either one of these pages:

    ISO:FT

or, if it's an in-person trade request, go here:

    In-Person (United States)

To find these pages, click the Forums tab at the top of the home page on BA. Scroll all the way down to Beer Trading where you'll see several thread options.

    Hope this helps

I have no idea why I couldn't find those links on my own. When I click "trading" I don't see them. Thanks.
