Not that I like prices going up, but in fairness to WH the token stand clearly said the $6 price include tip. This was the first year for tokens I believe. I wrote it off as a $5 pour and $1 tip....ie, no change in cost. Perhaps tips have been meager in the past. The cup size, well, if they advertise 5oz then it should be 5oz. I don't remember any short pours. Although anything not to the brim on mine were overflowing in my walk from the beer station to the tent in the torrential downpour....those poor servers needed a tent too.

I honestly missed the tip included sign and apparently am not the only one. I guess in all the excitement of fury I skipped over it. They also still had a tip jar out.
The workers there bust their rears for sure and fury is a much needed day for them. I still think it's still valid for people to be bummed about 6 bucks per for 4.4 with the perfect pour though. It didn't effect my ability to enjoy the day so I'm cool with it. Hopefully people bought less and there are a bunch of extra kegs left over! This way they can fix MY gripe of the everyday taplist. I'd love to see a bb stoshs pop up on a random day.

I retested based on the 2 previous comments with a more accurate measuring cup and came up with 4.5 oz. Filled to the absolute top. Still not 5 oz.

As others have said, had a good time and knew what the prices were ahead of time.

Also grateful to for the local PD stopping traffic so us seniors could cross the street.

They also stopped traffic for me to turn out from dorthy. Otherwise I'd probably still be sitting there waiting to turn

Awesome! Did you bring a measuring cup to check the pour?

They are pouring them into two different glasses. I have no idea if they're the same size.

Cookies n Cream was the winner for me, delicious coconut. Trax and Blueberry Pancake a close second.

Cookies blew right before I came for bottles but the trax is pretty awesome. They just tapped a boysenberry ghost pepper and it's pretty damn good too.

I can commiserate with folks about the pours. And to be clear, we're not at all frustrated with the staff and volunteers, just the drinkware. I also just kept telling myself it was for charity and that helped convince me it was all good.

Cookies was my favorite, but the new batches of vanilla and trax were right on. I didn't quite understand the blueberry pancake. It was the first beer I had and I couldn't taste any blueberry or pancake, but still tasted like a good barrel aged stout.

I agree. The for Charity part helps out a bit. But to hear the pours are $5 today is just kind of a kick in the pants. If they say it's a 5oz pour they do need it to be able to hold a 5 oz pour.

I just checked my summer beer fest cup for the hell of it and a normal pour in that with some headspace is a solid 5oz (or a bit more). Then there were places like griffinclaw going for the rim job which is 7oz total. Sounds like this is the size cup WH needs to check out to hold the pour they advertise.

Would have loved to sample some more but the $6 entry fee each is hard. Rolled the dice on blueberry pancake and boysenberry ghost pepper and lost. So back to the tried and true.

Also as much as I like dragon trax #bestPBstoutiveeverhad) the cookies and cream is the winner. Thought the same at summer beer fest.

I was so excited today when I went to pick up my bottles and pours were only $5 each. I had my measuring cup with me, so I made sure I got a full 5 oz pour. Then foolishly without thinking I gave the bartender a dollar tip for my pour. It wasn't until after I left the brewery while driving around South Lyon for a half hour trying to remember which gas station I saw on my way in that was 10 cents cheaper a gallon that I realized my blunder.

Comparatively every time you bought a pint, would you be happy if I gave you 12oz? When you buy a 4 pack, is it cool if only 3 bottles are in it? I mean, it's all just 25% less.

I don't mean you any disrespect because I usually agree with you, but when you order a pint at most places, you ARE only getting 12 ounces. Those "pint" glasses are 14 ouncers and figure a few ounces are lost to head space.

Short pours at a bar bug me too, can we go with the 4 pack analogy then

What is the 4 pack analogy?

    It's above.

In the end. No worries. If you feel different. Cool. Not trying to "win" anything here. I can just say that in my opinion, it personally bugs me to get shorted on a small high dollar/ounce pour. Leave it at that and we can move on to other things.

I absolutely agree. It happens at a lot of places.
