Yeah, along with Tempest, they are 2 of my favourite Scottish brewers.

Pilot is at the bottom of Leith Walk @thepenguin. Devil's Advocate, Advocate Close off the Royal Mile have 3 Pilot beers on at all times, various other bars including Bow Bar, Jeremiah's Taproom, Holyrood 9A, Ushers have them on as guest beers on a regular basis.

 

I had the best Scotch Ale I've ever tasted and it comes from my neck of the woods in the US. It's by Lake Louie Brewing and it's called Warped Speed. So, not very relevant here, but if you ever end up in Wisconsin don't miss it.

 

Funnily enough Scotch Ales are extremely rare in Scotland. It’s much easier to find an imperial stout.

 

Had this a few times on tap, really like it.

I actually like most of the Fallen beers.

 

Bottle Shop in Bermondsey had a USA tap takeover. Some solid stuff from Mike Hess, Belching Beaver, and Green Flash, among others.

Big standout in the newly arrived bottles though was a singular case of Westbrook Mexican Cake. Only a handful were left as of last night.

 

2 Bottles of Bellhaven Oat Stout at Hampden Park social club before the football today,

Several pints of Cromarty - Brewed Awakening Coffee Infused Stout in Linlithgow after the football tonight. Both were fab.

Oh lordy. Went to the Moor tap today to see if they had any Old Freddy Walker and managed to sample Fusion 2015 and Benny Havens (Whisky Barrel Aged) as well. Fantastic strong ales across the board.

 

Off to the lake district next week, grateful for any pointers

I was there last winter

Hawkshead brewery is worth visiting for modern beers, the food is quite tasty too. The Black Bull in Coniston is home to Coniston Brewery and does standard pub grub and all their beers . Very tasty they were too. There are a lot of Robbinsons and Jennings tied houses which is a bit of a shame for me as I dislike the majority of both breweries output, but if you like them then you will be in heaven. Although I do like Sneck Lifter

Booths also have a presence so there is a decent selection in those supermarkets for bottles

Wetherspoon pubs are now serving a number of new craft beers from the USA and UK (Wednesday September 7).



They are; Sixpoint Resin Double IPA (from Sixpoint Brewery, Brooklyn, USA), Flying Dog Snake Dog IPA (Flying Dog Brewery, Frederick, Maryland, USA), Uprising Treason West Coast IPA (Uprising Brewery, Windsor) and Blue Moon Belgian White (origin rooted in Colorado, USA and brewed in the UK).



Sixpoint Resin Double IPA, which has a 9.1 abv (alcohol by volume) is being brewed exclusively for sale in Wetherspoon pubs.



The craft beers are part of a new selection of drinks available at Wetherspoon pubs."

 

Was at ABV Fest in Belfast over last Friday and Sat. As a Volunteer in the afternoons and as a punter in the evenings. Such an awesome festival! Great venue, amazing beer and amazing people. Some pics
