Going to stop by the brewery on Friday on my way up north. Anyone know what is on for fills there? Tried to poke around social media and am only drawing from untappd checkins from last weekend. Small Talk, Crispy Little, Qualify Pils, Palatine Pils, Homespun, these sound right?

Wondering same thing for same reason. If ya see an old hippie with tie dye headband and braided beard stop and say hello.

I usually just check out their Untappd and see what's been getting checked in. I've been every week since they opened, and they seem to have 2-4 hoppy beers on and 2-4 lagers on. I believe on Saturday they had 6 beers on tap.

Hoping to visit tomorrow, but it's the wife's birthday weekend so she gets veto authority

Had the pleasure of visiting the brewery for the first time this past Saturday with my wife and 3 month old son. And the best way I can describe the brewery, the tasting room and the general aesthetic of the place is - simple, country elegance.

From the way you order your beers (not a traditional bar set up, but rather a purchase then pick up window), to the minimalist style seating and even the glassware. Everything exudes simplicity in a relaxed, communal, refined yet rustic way.

And the beers are off the charts. Just total class straight out of the gate.

Focused my afternoon on three pale ale's that were on tap (Hecto, Believe You Me & Homespun) and all had that familiar Hill Farmstead look, mouthfeel and taste. Each were at or under 5% ABV, yet packed some of the best aroma and flavor I can ever remember having from pale ales. Simply put, they are elegant beers that succeed in every way imaginable and allow for many return glasses throughout the course of the day.

None of the above should come as a shock given Dan's pedigree, but this is the second brewery I've visited in less than a week that recently opened, the first being Industrial Arts, where I looked around and felt like I was being transported back in time 10 or so years ago when the current veterans of the industry were opening their places for business.

It's not about lines, it's not about your personal allocation, it's not about $18 4-packs of a one-off double IPA, it's not about trade bait, it's simply not about all the things that sadly have become common place in the craft beer industry/hobby in 2016.

It's about two people who have a passion for what they do, want to share it with the community in a simple, sustainable and responsible way, and support themselves so they are comfortable.

Had Hecto and Palatine Pils this weekend - Hecto at Three's Brewing and Palatine at Torst. Both very good offerings.

i totally agree with this. what dan is doing i think is absolutely fantastic, and its quite clear that he has taken a page out of his former employer and is making extremely flavor, delicate beers rather than chasing the double dry hopped triple blood orange double IPA trend. there is for sure a place for both beers and both mindsets on brewing, but i've found myself seeking out beers similar to what suarez is bringing to the table more and more often. so happy that his stuff is already hitting distro at bars in nyc. want to make it up to his place asap.

I'll echo that as well. I love those juicy DIPAs, huge stouts or BA sours as much as anyone, but a super flavorful pils, pale ale, pale wheat ale etc really hits the spot in ways that some of those other beers really just can't.

Not much to add. I was there Saturday as well. It's a very nice place and very well run.

My only caveat is that a double IPA or something a bit more flavorful would be a nice change of pace from the current lineup, but I'm certain those beers are in the works. In fact I saw him hand a small pour of something dark to a friend to sample.

Also wanted to congratulation the Suarez Family on the addition of Enzo, who arrived on Labor Day!

One of the best posts I've ever read on BA in my 10 years on here. I've had my share of line waiting, and while its was fun at times, I just don't want to do it anymore. Not when there are breweries churning out fantastic product that don't require a full day to get a few cans. Industrial Arts is about 20 minutes up the PIP from me, chief's two IPA's (State of the Art & Pilot) are as good as anything I can get in the metro area...and perhaps beyond. No fanfare, no time sink lines, no product turning crappy after a few days, just fantastic beer at a reasonable price.

@jkane101 Wow, thank you for the kind words, bud. Definitely appreciate it. I, too, am about 15-20 minutes up the PIP from Industrial Arts and I've casually known Chief for about 10 years or so. I can remember him tearing up TAP NY while he was still at Ithaca. One of his original sours, Brut, still stands in my top 5 beers of all-time. And I can't agree with you more. Incredible hoppy beers right from the get go, awesome laid back and organic vibe, and fantastic prices.

And the best part is...this is just the beginning. I can't imagine the level of awesomeness that's to come once he dials in that gorgeous, brand-spanking-new system and starts letting it really loose.

If you're ever headed up there any time soon, feel free to shoot me a note. Would be happy to buy a fellow BA a beer and shoot the shit.

Happy times for the Hudson Valley. Happy times indeed.

When was the last time you drank a black lager? We are tapping 'Bones Shirt,' our unfiltered black lager, in the tasting room today for your pleasure! Watch the leaves start to turn from the brewery window today noon-7

Had Crispy Little today. My goodness what a delicious beer. Seems like Dan is making beer that is all about drinking. Incredibly flavorful for the ABV. Truly reminded me of Hill Farmstead. Cannot wait to visit this place.

Anyone there yesterday by chance and know if there's anything new on tap? Also, is there somewhere to look for current beers on tap?

Couldn't agree more. I guess I've had six of his beers so far and every one has been that combination of sweet aroma, subtle clean flavor, soft mouthfeel, and refreshing character that is what I love in a beer.
