Saw a few regional-based threads for Cantillon's Zwanze Day on Oct 1st, thought I'd start one for UK-related discussion, and see if any BAs are going to any of the tappings.

    The locations:
    - Kernel Brewery – Bermondsey
    - North Bar -- Leeds
    - Six° North -- Aberdeen

    The beer:
We've stepped back in time 30 years for Zwanze 2016, which is the result of a blend of 82% raspberries, 18% blueberries, and .05% Bourbon Vanilla beans, on which we've aged two-year-old Lambic at a rate of 300g fruit per liter.

As I've already found out though, according to Kernel's site they are already sold out :slight_frown:. Looking at North Bar and Six Degrees' twitters, the latest is to just 'watch here for more details'.

I was about to post asking if anyone else was attending Zwanze Day at the Kernel. My wife and I were able to get in. Now the question is whether to be one of the 50 dorks wearing a Cantillon t-shirt or not.

I was heavily considering the North Bar (Leeds) event. They have updated, then changed, then tweaked the details.
At first it was going to be ticketed, doors open at 11am, with ticket holders getting a Zwanze pour in ticket order.
Since then, they've decided it won't be ticketed, and also that the pour will take place at 8pm, in-line with the events around the world.
Consequently, this means an event held a smallish venue, with it's doors opening at 11am (I think), won't be pouring the Zwanze (which is the main reason people will be attending, right?) until 8pm...

The response to these changes have been somewhat predictable. A drunk, crowded, free-for-all awaits, if the majority are to be believed.
Unfortunate, because potentially could be a great event. I'd be interested to hear from anyone who goes to any of the UK events to see how it pans out.

Been looking at this one myself since I missed out on Kernel. You have it backwards...it was going to be a free-for-all, now it's ticketed. Tickets were supposed to go on sale at 9AM, and I've been constantly refreshing the page...but they're available now! Only 30 available according to North Bar.

Aha! Seems they've gone full circle after the "uproar" following the decision to un-ticket it!
Well that's good news... given me a decision to make (pretty quickly) now!

Ah, I never saw the original plans to ticket in the first place...just saw the dialogue regarding it being unticketed but I guess that's one in the same now.

Hope you got them if you wanted them...now shows as sold out

Unfortunately I've prior plans, which I could've maybe worked around with an early start in Leeds; but I couldn't justify buying a ticket for an 20:00 pour. Annoying how life gets in the way of beer, sometimes.

I'll definitely be interested to see hear about how it goes, though.

So is anyone else going to be at the Kernel for this, or is it just me, my wife, and a hundred hipsters with beards?
