I'm done. Last nail in the coffin for me. That beer was the whole reason i renewed

 

I'm also extremely disappointed with this news. That beer was one of the very few things I was excited about in the 2016 lineup. This year has been a major let down.

 

I'd be happy with a rebrew of melange 9 in its place...

 

Anyone else think that trading out Sour in the Rye with Coconut and Pineapple for the Kumquat version is NOT a "comparable" switch? BS if you ask me.

Where are the other 12 or so member bottles we were promised? Seems like we haven't gotten anything in months.

Combined with a new shopping cart which doesn't have any of my real order information (just a summary), doesn't list any of my current Hoarders allocations, doesn't even show that I'm a member...this really makes me want to reconsider renewing now.

They picked the worst possible time for these changes and news.

 

Agree with above. Definitely not an even trade-off between those two. I can go get the beer on draft at a local bar right now, actually...

Also still can't log in with the method they described in the email. The account page takes me to a blank page with no other options (and no option to reset password).

Overall, echoing a lot of the above. Not great timing for these announcements, especially with the consternation about this year coming up quite a bit in the recent thread pages.

 

Hold on, your honestly saying you spent either over $300 (RS) or $700 (HS) just to gain access to one specific beer of which you were only guaranteed one or two bottles of? Any additional bottles you had to spend more to get. This also implies you gained zero enjoyment or benefit from any other single beer you've had so far or will have by the end of the year.

Big change from the hour checkout it used to be.

 

I have always had positive experiences there. Anywhere from very busy but still professional to friendly and chatty. My last visit a few weeks ago was friendly and chatty.

 

Did they explain _why_ they made that change? I mean, there's gotta be some reason behind removing what the vast majority of their customers would consider a great feature.

 

We'll they announced very few of the 2016 beers up front, SitR Pineapole/Coconut was one of them. I'm sure people bought under the assumption they'd be getting lots of other good exclusive beers, which hasn't really happened.

So yeah, a lack of good exclusive stuff all year combined with one of few known exclusive beers being cancelled is going to annoy people.

Really hoping this is some odd transition year.

 

Did you have it when they had it on tap and fills two years ago? I'd say a good 80% of the reason why i renewed this year was bottles of that.

 

Inventory issues I know popped up in the past where more of an item was sold than what was available.

edit: nvm, spam filter got me again.

 

It sounded like those instances were logistics issues where they'd make more available for sale online than they had on hand. Switching a 60 minute timer back to first come first solve doesn't resolve that, you still have to put the right number into inventory in the first place.

 

OK, so bruery is damned if they do and damned if they don't. People went crazy when they released the 3 Floyds collaborations with issues and offered refunds. Now bruery is doing its due diligence to ensure they don't release subpar beer and they still get toasted for it, even though they are offering another product in its place. It may not be as good, in your mind, but they are doing something to fix it (including not releasing poor quality beer).

Also, there are more included bottles. Black Tuesday allocations are still out there, as is barrel aged 8 Swans. If I'm not mistaken, hoarders are also getting cuvée blend releases from both bruery and Terreux as part of their included beers.

We still have four solid months of releases coming, but, by all means, lets bitch about how much the disappointing the year is before it is over, especially given that a majority of the included releases haven't been released yet.

I appreciate your disappointment, but can we inject just a little pragmatism in this thread?

 

Right but what the complaint stated was that the only reason they renewed was for that one beer.

 

We'll bitch because we've been asked to make a decision on whether or not to renew before the year is up. There is room in this thread to discuss how the changes to the membership have affected it's value.
