I'm surprised that bars in OR don't have an attendant to drink you beer for you. It might not be safe for you to hold that glass all by yourself.

I actually kinda feel ya on Brouwer's and Fremont Brewing. Not my favorite places in Seattle. Just never been a big fan of Fremont Brewery and Brouwer's just isn't my vibe. Not to say they both are find places, just not for me.

Next time you're up in Seattle maybe try Beveridge Place in West Seattle? Great taps and big selection of bottles. I think it might have more of a "Portland" feel. It's been a favorite of mine for a while.

The Pine Box over in Capital Hill is pretty cool as well. Great tap selection. Haven't had their food yet but have been told it's pretty good.

Then there is always Uber Tavern. Cool small place with a great tap and bottle selection.

I second The Pine Box (though it can also be a bit pricey) and would add The Wurst Place. They rock.

I have lived in both cities, several years in each, and they are so similar that isn't even funny. I think it is funny how people judge a city on one day, place, or experience. Just enjoy the beer. Both cities have more than enough great choices.

The Sounders are better than the Timbers though.

Haha. The Blazers are better than the Sonics (that hurts) and the Hawks are better than _____? The Huskies just manhandled the PSU high school team also. Does that count!

Ouch! Kevin Durant come back!! And I'll say the the Hawks aren't looking so bad this year. Other than having 8 (?)red zone chances last week and still not being able to pull it off.

What no love for Elysian on Capitol Hill? I thought the staff was great and the clientle diverse. If I was a native, I would probably call this place home.

And yet the Sounders haven't beaten them this season.

I'll throw out some love for Elysian on Capitol Hill. It's been a number of years (too damn long) since I've been in Seattle, but I thought their food was good, the atmosphere terrific, and the beers solid.

I agree with your take on Elysian on Capitol Hill. Unfortunately, it's a pain to get to and parking absolutely sucks unless you're willing to pay to park in a lot.

Went to Wurst Place weeks after opening, great place and the manager looks like Tom Petty. Have not made it to Pine Box yet but i always give a nudge to Beveridge Place. I dig Naked City as well.

Speaking of Elysian-Cap Hill..I heard rumor of a new bwine(not Cyclops or Polyphemus). Can anyone confirm or deny? If so, I see a special trip to my ol' watering hole.

The new elysian bwine is called monocle. It has been out for a couple months now. Its pretty good, it has a unique flavor but is very sweet. Here are some ratings:
