No doubt. I went in for a couple grower fills the other day and mentioned to the bartender that the lines for cans are getting too ridiculous for me - he just seemed to think the lines and hype are awesome. Sure, it's great for business and the beers usually taste awesome, but at this point it's dominated by a collector's/FOMO mentality.

They either need to do online ticket sales or random unannounced release in the middle of the week. Gotta make these guys contemplate getting fired from their jobs for a 4 pack of Monkish.

We showed up at 630, (with my buddies kid) and got a 4 pack of each and were gone by 1030. Front of the line got 1.5 four packs of each, maybe 2 for the very early line sitters, I'm not sure.

Got to Monks at 10. Brought 2 growlers for fill. Left at 1045 with 2 full 32oz growlers of EoE and a 4 pack of DIPA....something about balloons. Just missed out on that TIPA by 6 guys. I think the last 5 or 6 behind me got lucky and got Monks Balloon DIPA. FYI they started selling the can's at 930am.:wink:

Yeah, they should at least attempt an online release once. I don't understand how someone can proudly say that they just waited 10-12 hours for 8 cans of beer.

Got there at 10 and still got cans? Haha, hope you showed those who slept in a parking lot.

100% they love the hype, otherwise they'd take the simple steps to alleviate the silliness. Sell tix on Eventbrite with a one day pickup window. Beer would still clear in a day. Gotta have those hashtag pics on social media, though.

I showed up at 9 and probably would have gotten cans if I got in line instead of going into the tasting room.

He couldn't have done that. Those guys were already at FedEx sending those cans out.

My friend got there at 8:50. Got everything and growlers.

Ppl keep thinking that as others line up earlier the beer will run out quicker. It's the same amount of ppl buying. Just wasting their time going earlier.

pretty annoying being here at the taproom at the moment... there's a bottle share going on and people are pretty clearly inebriated

That dude may one day be me, but I wouldn't need to be drunk to do it. If I were to show up to a line with just 20-30 empty chairs, I'd walk to the back, wait about 10-15 min. (sometimes going #2 takes a while), if no one shows up, then I'd calmly walk down the line, fold up each chair, and deposit them in a pile around the side of the building. By the time the owners showed up several hours later, there'd be enough people in line for them to just have to go to the back and not be able to figure out who did it. Might only work once, but it'd stop people from doing stupid shit like that.
