I'm surprised people keep recommending 4 Hands. I went there on Monday after going to UCBC (Grove location) and was completely underwhelmed by their offerings on tap and the staff. I would've rather gone to some of the local OKC taprooms, and while those aren't very impressive, they're still much better than 4 Hands. I'm disappointed that I didn't have time to go to Perennial or Schlafly because I would have much preferred either of those options, and after my experience at 4 Hands I'm likely to not buy any of their beer again.

@ONovoMexicano I would stop at Mother's especially if you haven't had anything from them. You might get lucky with some MILF. Their beer is a bit better than "meh".

The key phrase was "Beer is meh IMO". This stuff is subjective- maybe the guy will love Mother's, maybe he'll hate it. All I know is personally I feel that there are better breweries to visit in St. Louis then spending time at Mother's in Springfield where that is one of the few decent breweries. I PERSONALLY, would rather spend more time in St. Louis visiting more breweries if time is of the essence as he has stated... again... just my opinion.

What did you drink @ 4 hands?

FYI, this would be the Bottleworks location of Schlafly, not the downtown taproom. Urban Chestnut on Manchester is just another 5 minutes down the street.

Had 1 night in STL tonight. I knew Perennial was closed, but just rolled up to Side Project and found out they were closed for FW beer invitational. Bummer, I was really pumped to go there. Guess I'll have to make do with the other recs on here.

Checked out schlafly but most of what was on tap is available to me in DC area. Ended up heading to flying saucer downtown. Just really want to get some side project - oh well...

Will be in Saint Louis this weekend for a wedding, want to stop by Perennial and 4hands. Any good bottle shops around? I'm staying downtown by the stadium.

Anything from 2nd Shift for sure. Being from Florida I'm sure you'll find lots of fun stuff.

Any good coffee shops? Looking for nitro cold brew coffee if anyone is pouring it.

Sump has gained a pretty good rep but I have mixed feelings on them to be honest.

What about La Cosecha? Also, is Sump Coffee Stout available anywhere?

Sump Coffee Stout has been on draft recently in the Perennial Tasting Room. I've not seen any bottles on shelves for a long time.

La Cosecha is pretty solid stuff but I'm no expert. I also hear good things about Blueprint

    Hello,

I will be in STL from 11/20-11/25, mostly doing family stuff, but plan to take a few hours to hit up some combination of Perennial, SP, Schlalfy (bottleworks or tap room? which one is recommended?) and 4 Hands (but open to others too). Staying out in the 'burbs in Wildwood and curious if there's anything within a reasonably short distance from there, brewery or taproom, worth a visit as well. Thanks in advance.
