My daughter bought me a bottle cap rack in the shape of Michigan's Mitten as a Christmas gift, along with 6 Michigan beers in styles she thought I'd like. Love the idea of eventually filling it, with the bottle caps as close to where the beer was brewed. So far I have Short's Locals American Lager, Bell's Porter, Dark Horse Reserve Special Black Ale, and Tri-City's Giant Slayer.

I'll be posting my reviews as I collect and (hopefully) enjoy the beers. With about 70 spots to fill, it looks like a fun project. Next, I'll have to look for Michigan's Upper Peninsula for the breweries up there.

@jesskidden said what I was going to say. If you read the posts in the thread that he linked you'll realize that there about 30-35 caps that are fairly easy to accumulate in the lower peninsula, although the 7 Bell's caps that were part of their Planet Series last year are now out of circulation. Right now, only two breweries in the UP (Upper Hand and Ore Dock) bottle their beers and use a cap that has graphics. Ore Dock is very limited, and is only in the Marquette area. Good luck.

Just checking in to see how the MI cap collection is going with everyone.

My Michigan map has seen some progress in the last few months. I have passed the half way point but still have some collecting to do. Here is where I'm currently at:

It looks like you are ahead of me. I count 18 caps that you have that I don't, but I think I have a few that I don't see in your display.

Yup, from the other thread, you still have a few that I don't: 2 older Arcadia Ales, Bad Frog, BadAss and Bitter Old Fecker. You also have those Pride Of Michigan and Geyer's caps as well.

Your Big Buck cap has a different color scheme than mine which is interesting, I thought they were all the same throughout the years. I was able to find mine (along with a couple of empty bottles) from some old storage boxes I hadn't touched in years. If I recall correctly, mine is from the mid/late 90's, not long after they opened up.

I picked up a pink on white Saugatuck cap from the Neapolitan Stout. I also just drank a Bell's Oktoberfest tonight with the leaf cap. I had some Paw Paw beer since the last update, but their caps are blanks.
