I think you should expect to spend at least 45 minutes in line. If you want to get there earlier than 5 then you'll have a safer time getting cans but will wait longer of course.

The line moves but based on the last mango milkshake release, I think everyone that bought cans waited at least 45 minutes or an hour in line. Anyone that didn't was too late and I think it sold out shortly after 6

I still have yet to try a milkshake and I want to but...watermelon beer? The only watermelon beer I've had is Hell or High Watermelon and it's kinda gross.

Depends on when you get in line.. If you get in line at 5, my guess is you'll be checking out an hour later.

I have similar thoughts on watermelon, but I want to think Tired Hands found a way to make this work.

Yeah I've enjoyed some of the milkshakes but a watermelon one is of zero interest to me.

And @Streaky if you think Hell or High Watermelon was kinda gross, you should try Ballast Point Watermelon Dorado.

(Full disclosure watermelon in general is not my thing.)

Watermelon or not, I can't imagine it'll be anything other than a shitshow tomorrow. Especially given the rather long wait since the last 'shake release.

I think the term shit show is used too loosely around here. A long line does not a shit show make.

A true shit show is something like the Cigar City Huna release a few years back where they sold out before people who pre-purchased tickets got the beer they pre-paid for.

THAT and the ensuing chaos is a true shit show. A bunch of beer nerds sitting on lawn chairs snaking though a suburban town, not so much.

So if one were to get there at 4, should that person sit in their folding chair, or leave it in line and go inside for some pours? Do people actually get there at 4?

A lot of people do, yes. Last milkshake release (strawberry) I got in line at 3:40, and did not have cans in hand until 5:45ish.

Thats depressing. I don't plan on arriving till 4:30. I guess the good news is that I will miss the traffic.

    Will they have pours/growlers available?

I arrived at the last two Milkshake releases (Double Mango and Strawberry) around 5:15 and walked away with full allotments.

Of the shake? Pours maybe, growlers highly doubtful. They won't post if they're tapping a keg of it until tomorrow probably with the allotments announcements, again..big if.

I had a two week old can of Pineal tonight and it's very good, as predicted. I think the normal IPA's seem to hold up the best while DIPA's and the Milkshake beers change in flavor more dramatically over the first few weeks.

For what it's worth they were already $5.5. Double Mango was pretty distinct from a normal Milkshake too so this probably is.

I'll be in the area Monday evening. What're the chances there will still be cans available?

Of Watermelon Milkshake? Zero. There is zero chance it survives 4 days.

I cant imagine this lasting past 8pm tonight even with the increased yield. So many people were shut out for the Mango release.

If it has the word "Milkshake" on the can, it's selling out in the first day.
