Was just browsing the scoring settings... first team to score a 1 point safety (would be first in NFL history) gets a free box of beer from me

 

Under the new rules, he can try to return it, possibly all the way for a [safety], which would be worth 2 points. Perhaps a defensive player recovers the ball in the field of play, and while returning it he retreats into the end zone and is pulled down there. That will be a 1-point safety for the kicking team

This would apply if the Patriots were to try and kick a field goal, the Giants catch missed attempt in their endzone, leave their endzone and while trying to avoid tackles go back into their endzone and are tackled. Rather than a 2 pt safety it is a 1 point safety

 

How embarrassing. I hope it happens (to the Steelers or Patriots)
