it's pretty close to Route 128 train station (which is a commuter rail stop from Back Bay train station, which has a limited schedule on Saturdays), but even from there not close enough to walk (though would make the Uber/Lyft a lot cheaper). I don't know offhand what the Uber/Lyft concentration is in that area on a Saturday though.

I think my plan would be to just uber from the city to Canton and back. I'm guessing it's $30 or so each way.

You can take the commuter rail (providence line) into the Amtrak/Route 128 station (north of Trill) or the Canton station (south of Trill) and then rideshare from there. I live in the area and the number of people driving around is much smaller than in the city, but it should work out alright. The train times on Saturday will work alright.

You can also walk off the carbs, it's about 2.5 mile walk from the canton station, and 2.2 from 128 station!

I would take the MBTA Commuter Rail from Back Bay to Canton Junction and then find an UberX for a 10 minute ride to the brewery.

I use UberX from North Station to Roslindale frequently and it averages about $20. So I'd venture it will cost closer to $40 each way. If money isn't an issue than that would be the easier route to take, otherwise some combination of the the MBTA and Uber as noted above will be more cost effective.

Thanks to all for the info; Back Bay T stop is very close to me, so commuter rail + Uber might be an option (assuming, of course, I could even get tickets!)

What are the chances those 5oz pours at Trillium are bottle pours of lambic? Or strictly draft only lambics?

You can get point-to-point fare estimates on the Uber and Lyft websites or via their respective apps. Surge pricing can up the price but likely won't be a problem during the day.

I would imagine there is a good chance it's bottle too

How has Zwanze Day typically been at Trillium?

Honestly asking, what is your math that puts this at a good deal? How much are the glasses and pizza? What if I don't want pizza or the glasses?

What does a glass of Zwanze cost at your local packy? At your bar?

Obviously the cost here and whether or not it's worth it are going to be pretty personal

I've bought Cantillon bottles in bars twice; both times I paid ~$50 (Fou Foune and Iris, at Hawthorne in Boston in Mikkeller in SFO, respectively). I've never been at a place that sold Cantillon by the pour, but personally I would have no problem paying $10/pour. Whether $50 for a pizza, two glasses, and ice cream is worth it to others is of course a personal decision.

There are comps. What did Hobo, Armsby, and Novare charge? I get having tickets (it's totally necessary in this area and I suggested it to Armsby last year), but I don't get why it can't be $15 gets you entry and a pour of Zwanze and everything else (beer, food, glassware, etc) is pay as you go. A la carte works better for me in this instance, but obviously others like the package. And I was honestly curious about how other people saw the prices breaking down. Net cost for beer is reasonable, I just don't want the extras.

It is not as outrageous as I thought it was going to be. The bundle of things you get from the $100 ticket is not bad at all. Obviously is my own personal opinion and i'm pretty sure the event will sell out instantly either way.

I think lord hobo was $15 for 5 oz of zwanze and $10 for 10 oz pours of most others and then select bottles (fou etc) falling in much more expensive. So count me in the $100 is steep camp though per usual I can't really begrudge anywhere charging a high price that will still sell out almost instantly.

I'm wondering how many tickets are available at Trillium for this. I'm interested, but if there's tons of people, you're spending most of your time in line waiting for your next pour or food. Also wish Armsby had their details out so I could compare.

I don't think Lord Hobo had a cover charge, but each year it got harder and harder to get inside.

When I have found Cantillon on tap in the Boston area, it has been $10-15 for a 9-10 oz pour. This does not include Zwanze, which is a special case.
