The Snow Pack sounds good but I think I will wait until we have snow. In other news, the Oktoberfest beers and Pumpkin Ales are out now, in August.:astonished:

Since when does adding maple to a beer make it a "bandwagon" beer?

Brewers have been adding maple to various styles of beer for years and I certainly don't see a sudden spike of them lately. Rogue, Short's, Anchor, Sam Adams, Saugatuck, Harpoon, and the Bruery (just to name a few) have all bottled beers with maple as an ingredient (not released in an abnormally short period of time) and not one of the beers are very similar to the other.

I don't see that this is any different from beers with fruit, coriander, peel/zest, vanilla, coffee, etc. All this stuff has been used for quite some time now and I don't see any bandwagon to jump on.

That's a very interesting position. Maybe you are right, and maybe I am seeing a limited piece of the picture. You are right in that maple in beer isn't a brand new idea. I do think that something can be an old idea and still be trendy (sometimes you see people arguing the opposite). One thing though: You are lumping together things like coriander and coffee saying that they have been used in beer for quite some time... no bandwagon. Do you really not see a difference in trendiness between the two?

Adding coffee to beer has been popular for some time in the same way adding fruit to beer has been. I guess the big difference here is that slapping "coriander" on a label isn't going to boost your sales any.

The important distinction to me is popular ingredients vs. style trends. Session IPAs, tropical IPAs, barrel aged beers, and sour beers are trends and the bandwagon is packed. Coffee, maple, vanilla, fruit, etc. are simply popular ingredients. That's my take, anyway.

I am going to guess that it will be. IT will be its 3rd year in this pack. A winner for sure.

I'll be buying it. Maple scotch ale sounds great, and I still have't had the coffee stout yet.

I always make it a point to pick Sierra's seasonal mix packs.

The coffee stout makes it worth it for me and now they added a maple scotch ale, Heck yeah!

Since it's a winter pack it would be rad to throw in their porter or stout as opposed to the pale, that way they still keep a core beer in there. Either way I am not really complaining just saying.

I think their seasonal packs are just good beers to have in the fridge while you're busy making your beers of the world domination plans.

And here I am on the other end of the spectrum. It was 98 here in South Georgia yesterday. I'm still in sours and gose mode, but I am anxiously awaiting the release of the Snowpack regardless of the weather here.

What Snowpack needs is a DIPA.

for the price wont be buying....maple = sweet, had the coffee stout, it was just alright, pale ale = cheaper to buy a 12pack if I ever wanted it, singe hop cascade will be disappointing, how does that equal snow pack
