As I understand it, they only release bottles on Saturdays, so you can plan your trips out for that. West Ashley kicked Friday night I think. Got to try some before that.

Usually Saturdays, although all days are fair game (except Sunday, beer gods day). Locals get favored w the midweek release, usually small batch stuff.

This is only the 2nd time I've gone. You have to leave right when the board is posted. Last time I went for West Ashley and made it at about 650 and they only had about 4 cases left. They changed it to in house only before the end of the night. They still had about 15-20 cases of Appreciation last night when I left.

Hey guys! I'm making my first pilgrimage to SARA this Sunday and am staying in an airbnb in Santa Cruz. I was wondering how easy is it to catch an Uber/Lyft up to Santa Cruz from Capitola on a Sunday night or am I better off taking it really easy and just driving?

I've been stuck in various wine country regions with no Uber or cab in sight and I don't want to make this mistake again! Thanks

Should be plenty of Uber/Lyft around there from what I've seen. It's regionally still bay area vs rural central CA. I'd just load the app up and see how many cars are around when you get to your Airbnb.

With Lyft you can pretty much move the map anywhere and see how many cars are available at any time. Looking moments ago, there are about 6 cars ready to in Santa Cruz. I don't think you'll have a problem. Plus with both, you can schedule rides in advance, so if you want to set yourself up specific times, you won't have to worry about the risk anymore.

Really easy - did it this summer and then Uber'd from SARA to Aptos St. BBQ - highly recommended.

There's also Mission St BBQ on the Westside of Santa Cruz. Exact same place, no need to go all the way out to Aptos.

Good to know - is it literally the same place (same food, etc.)?

Exact same food, beer, etc. Aptos St. isn't even the original, that would be Trail Dust BBQ in Morgan Hill. There's also South Winchester BBQ in Campbell, BBQ 152 in Gilroy, and Salinas City BBQ in Salinas. All the exact same place, though number of taps and beers on tap are different between them.

Really enjoyed being at SARA and Saison Bernice, Chavez, Remember When, Adjunct Kindness #1 and a bottle of Four Legs Good to go (done over two visits and including half pours; I'm staying in the west end of Santa Cruz and really didn't want to get hammered for the drive or any other reason). I guess an expansion to Santa Cruz is in the works.

It's a great time to be a beer drinker.

So Friday, SARA released Tomorrow, Today, a hazy IPA with Citra, Simcoe and Mosaic.

Just had it at Toronado. Juicy tangerine and orange consumes your palate, along with some peach to mellow out the citrus. Then on the back-end, it transitions to a little bit of dank bitterness. This is my favorite hoppy beer from SARA, by far.

I am going up to SC next weekend. Mainly to go to SARA, but can anyone recommend a good beer bar in the area? I was looking at beer thirty. Was also wondering if anyone allows you to bring in outside bottles to share with the staff. Thanks guys. Cheers
