Standout Deadwood, a very nice black double IPA from Poland.

Would love to try this beer, unfortunately my local 'Spoons has been taken over and the beer is nowhere near the quality it was as a 'Spoons, apart from the occasional decent guest beer.

Now half way though our week in the lake district. Had some decent beers. Coniston old man probably the pick of the bunch so far although I did find a pub selling Timothy Taylor Landlord probably my favorite pub beer. Lot of Robinsons pubs, Unicorn bitter a bit ordinary but the trooper was better.

Just got back from 6 days in Barcelona. Had quite a few brews and my highlights include:

    at NaparBCN tap house:
-Theories of Conspiracy No 4: The Secret Society- An Imperial Stout Collab with Lervig of Norway. Incredible stout, conditioned with 20 kg of raspberries.
-Alberhop by Tro Ales- An Apricot IPL, surprisingly good.

    at BierCab
-Cocoa Barrel Aged by Cervesa Guineu- Another bangin stout which tasted more like a chocolate milkshake at 10%.

Even more jesus by Evil Twin, first time having it, really enjoyed it.
Ay, Carmela! by Cervesa La Pirata- a nice take on a DIPA.

    at Black Lab
-El Predicador- A nice hoppy American IPA
-The Sour Lady- A very tart and refreshing raspberry Berliner Weisse

Overall a nice trip with some excellent spots for beer. I did run into a lot of UK beers, which I was trying to avoid. It seems the Spanish beer scene is in the infantile stages, but some exciting things are brewing.

I understand visiting Stockport pubs around Christmas time is the best chance of finding that.

    Browar Szalpiw Kociamber
Wild Beer/8 Wired Black and Blue
    Magic Rock/Fork The Upside Down
    Beavertown/Parrotdog Universal Mind
    Arbor/Wiper and True Clogwork Orange
Lost and Grounded Running with Sceptres
    Dark Star Green Hopped IPA
    Wiper and True Quintet
    Good Chemistry Fresh Start

After one of my Polish brews let me down for the first time onto the Rainbow Project 2016 at Small Bar, Bristol (Wild Beer was cheaper than their own bar down the road, lol !?!). Out of the one's tasted Universal Mind was my standout, a peaty/smoky old ale based on a rare Dortmund Adambier recipe. Then onto a local beer festival in Bristol for some serious hops. L and G another great beer which listed as a special lager but had everything a hopped up IPA should have. One to watch.
