As a RS member on the fence to renew membership for 2017, does anyone know if The Bruery plans to make any lower abv stouts or other worthwhile beers for next year? I seem to enjoy the Terruex more than I thought I would but find the big and sweet 15%+ stuff so similar and not really able to drink 750's of those without some help. I enjoy the beer the Bruery makes but being out of state, the extra costs associated is becoming prohibitive, which I understand is not the The Bruery's fault.

I guess I just feel like the value to me isn't what I thought it was, if I was local, this wouldn't be a question. If anyone has any advice, I would appreciate it!

Opened a 2015 BT on Saturday night. It is drinking fantastic right now! Split with my dad and wife; all three of us were thrilled.

    Looks like allocations are up?

    RS:
    The Grade
    Rueminator
    White Chocolate
    The Traveling Plum

... the last few months of 2016 are going to be quite the wallet hit.

    Hoarders Cuvee
    Rueminator
    The Traveling Plum
    White Chocolate
    The Grade

The Traveling Plum description has me a bit skeptical - might relegate that one to just trying it out at the tasting room.

The Traveling Plum sounds great till you get to the Chinese Five Spice part.

I'll count this month as a way to save some dollars for what is shaping up to be a monster fall/winter.

It is gonna be a cheap month. Maybe 1 white chocolate and a grade if I hear good things or get to the tasting room and like it.
Next month could be costly with grey monday (I know it is official for next month but it seems likely) and black tuesday

Anyone notice that the HS Cuvee says limit 6, but the purchasing page only lets me do 4. Suppose it was intended to include the 2 that come with the membership? @BruerJoel can you confirm the allocation limit?

    Thanks!

Thanks for the ping! You get 2 bottles with your 2016 membership. You can purchase up to 6 more. The allocations are updated to reflect that ;-)

Wish I could get down there to try Rueminator and make an informed purchase, seems like the kind of thing that Bruery could potentially hit out of the park. Leaning towards rolling the dice and maxing out.

Go for it and ruminate for years to come looking at your cellar and the poor purchasing decisions you've made.

    Sorry, low hanging fruit.

I can't find my email... Are allocations cut down to one week from now on? Or does that start in 2017?

I believe that you have through September 30, 2016 per my e-mail of this morning.

The last email said till Sept 30th. So I'd guess it starts with the new year.

Just using this month's allocations as an example, if it were 2017, under the new rules, I would have seven days to search out reviews so I can decide whether or not I want to spend $975.86 (plus another $150.00 in shipping costs) on beer. More and more that one week window seems a little bit unreasonable.

I wish the hoarders blend was just BT and not the anniversary as well. Why do that have to add that to everythjng?

Because it adds the caramel-y goodness of bourbon barrel aging while still letting the adjuncts shine through where BT might have overpowered.
