It's quite possible that the person doing the inital checking/filtering of the requests had a big stack and upon getting to yours made the annotation that led to the rejection of claim and didn't bother looking any further.

(If the first item you look at at disqualifies something why bother to spend the time to look any further? )

I decided to call after not hearing anything for over a month since I sent my refund request in. My buddies all sent their requests after me and they have already all got their refunds, so what gives. When I called I was glad to hear that they accepted it and mailed out a check on 8/11 almost a month ago and their delivery service said about 4-5 week for delivery, geez that is along time given that I live in Chicago. Odds are that it is lost in mail. The very helpful dude on the phone told me to call back next week if I still haven't gotten it in the mail and they will cancel that check and mail me another one. If that happens, I think I will just save them the postage and go pick it up!

I dropped my refund request in the mail the same day they announced regular BCBS refunds. Just called GI, and it sounds like they either lost it or never received it.

Amazing how many problems they have had processing refunds, who in the world did they hire to do this??? Wrong amounts, no refunds, delays, lost mails, wrong size shirts, etc., it has been a clown show processing refunds.

I called them, too. Seven bottles. Looks like mine is hiding from them. They talked a good talk. I've lost all faith in GI. Isn't "butthurt" the word used on BA? That's me.

Bought 30 bottles this year, more than ever before. Haven't had a drain pour. By the time they came out with their refund offer I had 19 bottles left, all dated 11/4/15. Spent $9.99 apiece for them. Took pictures, sent neck labels of the remaining 19. Check cleared the bank without a hitch, even though my last name was misspelt. At $15 per bottle refund, I basically recovered everything I invested. I'll be a repeat customer, looking forward to black Friday.

Am I missing something here? Why wouldn't they just process the twelve and reject the one? Oh yeah profit. But this hasn't played out yet so I shouldn't jump to conclusions.

The poster mentioned in his follow-up post above:
So if all 13 bottles only had photos of the neck labels instead of physical labels as required, well it seems fairly clear cut to me. So yeah, maybe you are missing something here.

I had 4 infected Barleywines but I also had a good one. No one believes me! I still have one bought the same day and place as the other good one, so it'll be interesting to see what it's like later this fall when it gets opened.

While the first refunds seemed to have share of issues (although I'd still wager most were handled correctly), I think there have been an enormous amount of positive responses for how the Regular and Prop refunds have gone. Remember that for every one post here about something going wrong (and I'm not sure we can say that GI not receiving it is something going wrong on their end), there are scores of others that have had the refund go without a hitch - those just don't get posted about, so you don't hear them as much.

I popped my first of 12 from that date just last week and I couldn't pick up on any off flavors.

Well I'm pushing the limits, sent my 4 out today. Getting $60 back would be nice and worth the mailing, but my heart won't be broken if not. I cracked open a few upon hearing of the issue pretty recently, and it drank like a sour cherry stout if you had no expectations going in. Reminded me a little of Weyerbacher Tiny. Not undrinkable by any means.

Plus I took full advantage of the Migration Week events a few months back with plenty of freebies to make me less "sour" about the off batches.

I slept on filling out the application, I didn't realize there was a deadline.

All the links I can find online just lead to their main page.

Can anyone provide me with a link for the application?

Did they give you an option of sending in the pictures you took via email (since you no longer have the neck labels) or what did they tell you?

I sent in my form for 8 bottles on July 27 and called them today. The guy said he didn't have a way to look up the status. He took down all of my info and gave me a reference number. He said to call back in a few weeks if I haven't got a check.

Seems strange he couldn't look up the status, since everyone here said was a rejection list and an approval list.

I went to the GI website but don't see the application. Can someone point me in the right direction?

The lady I spoke with said she didn't see my name on the rejection or approval lists, and she sounded perplexed to hear I dropped my refund request in the mail the same day they announced refunds. She said she would follow up with me but did not provide a reference number or anticipated response timeframe. Based on my experience and that of others noted recently, it doesn't sound like they're handling this well.

Yup. That's what they do. Sent mine same day, as well. Stood in line at USPS and paid postage to clerk. I should have saved a pic of the envelope and copied it on milk cartons. Kind of like an Amber Alert, or maybe a Bourbon Alert.

Did you get proof of delivery or anything like that? I paid the extra $$$ for it, so if there was a dispute I could at least point to the fact they received something from me.
