I'm going to be in Windsor for a football game on sunday but we're thinking about going up Saturday for shits and giggles. Is there any place in that area that's worth a visit? Also, the obligatory is there anywhere i can get some heady around there? Thanks for reading!

Harpoon is in Windsor and is worth a visit. The grounds are lovely. There's also a Simon Pearce outlet if you want to score some beautiful glassware and pottery.

Depends on how far you want to drive... Drive to the Alchemist itself on Wednesday for Heady. It's about an hour. The Harpoon beer garden is great in good weather. Worthy Burger in Royalton is a great option. Visited River Roost a couple weeks back and was pleasantly surprised.

Worthy Kitchen is in Woodstock. Amazing food and really solid tap list. They usually have a couple HF on draft. You can stop and check out
Queeche Gorge on the way. It should be about 20 mins from you.

Thanks for the replies. I forgot that harpoon was there. That's a nice spot and I'll definitely check out the others!

    Hi,

You should definitely hit River Roost in White River on Saturday. They make great all around brews. Really good IPA/DIPA's.

In the same parking lot as River Roost is Big Fatty's BBQ. Good food, great tap list including some Hill Farmstead options, and they have a small beer store/crowler station next door that will have some good options to purchase retail.

On Saturday the closest option for Heady would be the Beverage Baron in Barre. They have been releasing 10 cases of Heady and SoS on Saturday mornings. Two four packs per person of each. You can see this info on their facebook page. It has been hanging around pretty late in the day the last few weeks due to the slow season. (Alchemist is probable about 30 mins farther).

As mentioned previously, Worthy Kitchen is great for food and draft options. Check their facebook page for a fairly updated tap list. Next door to them is Woodstock Hops & Barley. Great little beer shop with growler station. You will also drive by a Jake's Market. They have growlers. Had Maine Beer Co. Lunch over the summer for growlers, usually have one of their beers as an option.

Harpoon is great spot to hang out. Get a pizza from the outdoor pizza oven at the store in the complex. Great stuff and you can sit outside and drink the Harpoon brews.
