Actually, curry isn't the spice either, it's a dish. The spice mixture is commonly referred to as Garam Masala. I just said "curry" since most people just call the spice mixture "curry" instead of what it really is.

Really? That's cool they are doing that, but should have at least mentioned that they are going to be doing that. I was at the tasting room yesterday and would have stopped in to buy some beers but didn't bother going to the fulfillment center as I didn't have anything to pick up.

Do you have to ask for the list? Or is it readily available when you walk in? As in a printed list that you can read through while you are waiting for them to pull your bottles from the back?

 

I've always heard that vanilla fades overtime. One brewer told me drink it fresh if you want vanilla and wait a year if you want it gone but that probably has to do with the amount they used as well. So I'm surprised you got more vanilla in 2012 than the 2016. Anyone have a different take on how long vanilla sticks around in a beer?

 

For those of us who haven't had the pleasure of 2012, I'd also like to hear thoughts on 2016 vs 2015. The 2015 batch was my first exposure to it and I love it.

 

Some pilot releases in the Tasting Room have an exploration name to them. As squirrels may have been the first discoverers of maple syrup, it seemed appropriate.

 

I believe it started like 2 weeks ago. I know they ran out of Mrs. Stoutfire yesterday, because I missed it lol. I heard they did not announce it because they were seeing if the refrigerator they were keeping them in was going to freeze them or not. They keep them really cold I believe because most bottles they are selling they consider past their prime bottle conditioning date, not sure on this. When you walk in, you can see the fridge behind the counter and can see everything in it. They also have a printed list you can look at that shows the prices.

Darn it! I was hoping I could get more Smokey before word got out about the fridge!

As for Wiki Wiki Tart, how the hell is this only $9.99!?!? It has the flavor, tartness and complexity of sours twice that price! I'm a fan!

Eerily enough, it wasn't on tap at Bruery when I went yesterday, which is a bummer because I purposely didn't get it when at seal beach beachwood the prior day knowing I was going to Bruery...

 

New merch in the store Tumbler, Bottle and Cardigan which is not up as I type this. I think a new set of tshirts(not labelled Terreux) would have been more appealing to me. The Tumbler and Water Bottle will really confuse people into thinking they can be filled in the tasting room. I would not have any use for more vessels.

I'm not sure what to say, is this a joke? That pin is like something you give as a freebie for a dodger game, and then everyone throws it out. Also, that bottle opener doesn't even look cool! If it doesnt opened waxed bottles on the first try I might never use it because my current go to bottle opener does.

public release friday, on tap at both tasting rooms friday as well. it was only on for society members to preview and then it got pulled off, so not surprised that it wasnt an offering yesterday, specially with public release tomorrow.
