Carton Brewing (September 2016)

When the last batch of tickets went on sale I had tickets in my cart 3 times. Each time ticketmaster froze and I lost them.
Had to drink many 077's to release the annoyance it caused.

Was planning on going but they moved up the start of my daughter's soccer season. Enjoy

I had a good time at the brewery this past Thu and Fri. Got some Boat to go. Don't get there too often as it's 3 hours from my house.

 

few things in this world as good as cracking a Boat after a nice, empty beach day. long live local summer and Boat beer.

 

i will be in ac this weekend but for a non-beer related event on sunday. have fun

 

Anybody know what the boat situation at the brewery is? Going on a golf trip tomorrow and would like to try and get there right at 5 for a case

 

Boat was still a case per on Sunday so shouldn't be a problem.

Looking forward to picking up a 4 pack of Ego this weekend after hitting the beach. Don't know if this is a good thread to talk about this, but it seems as good as any... Has anyone tried the new Founders release Pale Joe? I'm trying it for the first time tonight and I can't help but get a Regular Coffee-lite vibe off of it--sweetened coffee taste, insane fresh cold brewed coffee aroma. At 5.4% ABV, it seems like something I could handle at 8 AM on a Sunday. Regular Coffee, on the other hand, would land me back in bed by 10...

 

indeed it is and yes there is an orange box in the middle of the kit. of all the people in that kit i will be last to cross. i am old, slow, fat and hurt and there are many demons from my community that will be well ahead rockin the box

 

The high school psychology teacher in me can't wait to land a few cans. Super ego will round out the trifecta in due time, right @augiecarton?

Picked up a 4-pack of Rub on Thursday. Great stuff. The spices really come out as the beer warms and hits you in waves. Coffee initially, then chocolate, then cinnamon at the very end. Lingering heat throughout from the black pepper and cayenne. Subtle smoke.

@augiecarton I just watched the video for Rub and noticed Joe Carroll's book Feeding the Fire in the background. Then it hit me that the spices in Rub are more or less the Fette Sau dry rub recipe. Was that part of your inspiration for the beer? Man, how I would love to pair this with a plate of ribs or brisket. Drooling just thinking about it!
