Wicked Weed now available in DC / NOVA

    I was shocked to not already see a thread on this topic either in this forum or the South-Atlantic. Apologies if I just overlooked it. Below are the release parties happening the rest of the week.

    9/14: Smoke and Barrel
    On Wednesday, September 14, we're going to be showcasing a bit of everything with no fewer than 15 drafts! If that weren't enough, all 15 will be featured in our regular Wednesday 1/2 price happy from 5-7!

    There is no admission fee for this event and all Wicked Weed beers will be priced individually by the glass and in 4 oz. tasting pours

    Yeah. I saw that. Just figured it needed its own starring role of a thread. I figured the locals up there were trying to keep it soft spoken as long as they could. :wink:

    I've been checking twitter to see when bottles start hitting stores. Would love to get a bottle tonight -- can't do these midweek tap takeovers anymore.

    Just saw another tap event I did not catch earlier. Boundary Stone DC will be hosting their release Friday (9/16) beginning at 1pm according to their social media page.

    If our area is like everywhere else that gets Wicked Weed (and it looks like it will be), there won't be any shortage. They make a ton of beer.

    Think around $8-10 for the 4pk. It's a very solid IPA.

    $20 for 500ml of a 4.0-4.2 rated sour seems kind of pricey.

    You're gonna get the best prices at TW if you're concerned about the Nova markup. The juiceless I've seen is dated 8.22

    It's much cheaper in NC. Hoping some of the local shops will figure it out when the stuff starts collecting dust.

    The best IPA that WW makes is Pernicious...IMO...double or single category...

    People are losing their minds over this new addition to the market, their sours (tarts) are good, but not earth shattering...I've had most of the angel series as well.

    Not sure what price they were selling it at, but Whole Foods Fair Lakes sold out almost all of their initial supply in a day. Not to say that future shipments won't collect dust, once everyone has satiated their initial curiosity.
