Thoughts on Space Case? My local Long Island beer store has kegs of Oscillation #5 and Space Case. I'm gonna get a growler, and I've already had (and loved Oscillation), but I haven't had Space Case. I like Berliner Weisses, but don't know much about this one.

Why don't you ask for a sample of it first? I like sours and Berliner Weisses as well to benchmark my tastes. This one has a great kiwi flavor to it that gave it a slight tartness which I felt was refreshing. Make sure you like kiwis

Looks like Proscrastination is landing at a bunch of beer stores up in Boston. Would be nice to see their stuff on shelves here...

cans typically show up out here on LI eventually, but usually way way after the release at the brewery. a keg of southern migration showed up all the way out in riverhead two weeks ago, and then there were some cans of miami beats that made it to Bayport last week too. In the case of the latter hitting distro that late was not doing any service. I had my last can last week and the coconut was basically all gone, and that was kept cold too.

It's still available at the brewery

I think the fact that it's still available at the brewery has far less to do with the quality and more with how inconvenient their location is to the majority of NYCers. imo they should start sending their surplus cans out with kegs to retail locations around the city.

Agreed. As much as I like their beer, due to their inconvenient location I never realistically see myself making my way there for a release. I pick up cans and bottles whenever I see them at shops though.

Come on guys. Just do yourself a favor and go one day. Really nice space. It's not THAT hard to get to.

.... 2.5 hours from the Upper East Side when I went a couple months ago. Bus to Subway to Subway to Bus, it was a huge pain lol

I'd love to man, but I know myself and I'm just being realistic. If something takes over an hour in each direction for me to get to, I'm realistically never going to go - it's just not worth it from a time perspective. It's hard enough for me to justify getting over to Other Half, and that takes 40 minutes each way. What can I say, I'm lazy.

Not to mention, I can just walk down the street to Milk & Hops and get pretty much all of their releases on draft (at least lately). A year ago, when cans in the city were a more novel concept, it might have been different. Now, I've drastically cut back on my can buying because I just don't drink frequently enough to keep up. A small stash of OH/Grimm/whatever else I can pick up at a nearby bottle shop is more than enough for me at home, and I'm perfectly content trying the rest on draft around town.

I used to live on the UES. Not sure which route you took. Most it ever took me was 1.5 hours.

I completely forgot to mention this but I stopped by Madison Square Eats yesterday and the Truffliest cheesesteak tent had cans of Moss and I Feel The Universe (on-site only). I believe both were on draft alongside two SingleCut beers as well.

M31 to the R, R expressed so I had to get off at the last stop and back on the Manhattan bound train to get to the correct stop then the Q29. It was a pretty brutal trip.

I took an Uber once and while it was for sure the best way to get there, my wallet hurt after that one. I'd love to just say "hey, lets swing by Finback for some cans after work!" but the reality is, getting there and back is at least a 3-4 hour round-trip and that's not even factoring in carrying a case of beer with me. Its hard to justify that when I can hit up any of the 5 other more accessible breweries.

Given the fact that finback usually has cans left over for weeks, I dont know why they cant distribute to local bottle shops in the city, I've seen cans hit long island shops in the past...

Just picked up a can of Procrastination from Bayport Superstar Beverage out in Suffolk county.

Very weird beer, but not exactly in a bad way. I'm still trying to wrap my head around it.

Had Procrastination last night at Ginger Man (after some confusion by the bartenders if it had kicked or not). Thought it tasted great, but not like a great IPA, just a great tasting beer. Coincidentally, after first and second choices earlier that day at Rattle N Hum West had kicked, I tried the Stone coffee IPA and that was way unbalanced (all coffee). So, thumbs up to Finback and Procrastination.

They definitely do distribute sometimes, but it seems inconsistent. Milk & Hops has gotten cans a few times at both locations.

Wow think you can drive to tree house in less than 2.5 hrs from UES. And you'll get much better beer
