Ram Brewery Side Note Releases

So I've been to RAM twice and swore I wouldn't go back. The beers were not enjoyable and the food was barely average. My question is - Does RAM Schaumburg have a few of Shaun's beers on tap all the time or is it a crap shoot? I'd rather not go if it ends up being the same old lineup. Also, has the food gotten any better or is it the same old fare?

 

They have a rotating selection aside from their normals. Seems like it's 4 beers, but I've only been there once. On Saturday two were his beers. Also, they had IPA for ALS which I thought was pretty good - I'm not sure if that was his brew or not.

 

I've only seen any of Shaun's beers on tap during his special releases. I'd be surprised if they were ever on tap outside of that. When I went for the ChocoLatte release they had Gimme Somoa on tap which was awesome. I skipped this last release but plan on going to his next Juicy release (especially since it will be in cans). I do hope they find a way to make us a smoother process. Outside of that, I end up at the RAM for work events and stuff but not too often outside of that.

 

They had Chaos on tap during the release but I don't know if it still is.

 

Just letting you guys know The Ram just posted that they Chaos Theory is still on tap. Hopefully its still there on Sunday.

3 kegs of Side Note #3 ChocoLatte will be on tap starting today 9/2 at 11:00am in Schaumburg. Imperial stout aged on coffee from our friends at Tugboat Coffee Roasters and cocoa nibs with vanilla added.

 

I can confirm the yummyness. I wonder how long 3 kegs will last because I didn't see it on the menu.

 

I'm going to guess it'll last for the weekend and possibly past Labor Day because what really gets the neckbeards out is a good ole fashioned hype train limited release. Not an unlimited pour-a-thon

 

heard on a fb group that they are down to one keg already sooo if you're in the area head over soon!!!

 

Looking at October 1st for the release date. Brewed 2 batches last week, dry hopping this one even more. Cheers!

So unfiltered ipa's are the new fad beer.

 

Maybe. It will be fad if it eventually goes away. But if it doesn't go away, that would be like calling internet a fad.

 

Makes sense, doesn't it? Ultra fresh beer with nothing to get in the away of the taste? Sounds good to me.

I also highly doubt it's just a fad.

Fruited ipa's started taking off and now just about every brewery has a fruited IPA in their arsenal. Inam sure the same thing will happen with unfiltered ipa's. I have a staple of good ipa's that I like so I don't go chase the latest fads. A fad is when a beer style becomes popular that every brewery has to their own beer to that style and soon it's like....meh, the market is saturated.

 

I'm hoping to get a try of this when it comes out in a couple weeks. I happen to be free that day as of now, so I'll probably try to head over to grab some. Curious to see what size of crowd will be there.

 

I just can't wait until the next side note is released so that I can sit back and watch the trade hysteria fueled by shitlords
