This. I would not take my kids there. If you want to eat with the kids, you could go across the street to Bad Apple...which has a better menu anyway.

I just did this last weekend. Kids 4+1 did great there. Highly recommend at least during the day.

    Unless you like burritos!

But yeah, Half Acre isn't the place for kids; it's small and loud, so they're not going to have much room to be children, and it may or may not be the type of environment you'd want them in. Bad Apple is definitely a good choice.

Yes - that's a good point. I've been there 5 or 6 different times, though never with my kids. About half the time my kids would have been fine. The other times it was definitely too crowded for kids, and as some mentioned - too loud. Lunch time is generally fine, and weekday nights it could be fine if you go earlier.

For those downtown this looks to be a cool event. Excited to try the '15 Big Hugs.

Has anyone tried the Navaja canned on 9/13? I noticed it's a different batch with Mosaic, Citra and Centennial hops. First batch (canned 8/16?) was Mosaic, Simcoe and Nelson Sauvin Hops. I have had only the first batch and so far its a top five beer of the year for me.

Had a 9/13 Navaja last night. Like it much better than the batch I had about a month ago.

Where did you see the hops used in each batch? Loved the first batch, so I'm a bit worried!

I'm curious about this as well; I noticed a few places mentioning said mosaic, citra and centennial, but sometimes the descriptions of these beers are outdated (check out BA's description of Navaja!), so I can never tell if it's accurate.

I thought I had a 9/13 last weekend, and it tasted pretty similar, but that might have been confirmation bias + the fact that mosaic hops are still being used. Either way, it was still excellent.

The thing that throws me off there is that the beer was listed in 2013. It seems logical that you're right that the description is for cans (especially because I feel like the 1st of 2nd batch of original Navaja had Hallertau Blanc hops), but I'd still like it to be more specific.

I had both batches and the second batch was waaaayyyy better than the first so this makes sense. If they keep making that second batch, it is definitely my favorite accessible Chicago beer.
