Founders 2016 Release Calendar

Lizard of Koz is their Imperial Stout + blueberries, vanilla, chocolate and bourbon barrels.

 

I noticed when the current batch was released the IBUs were listed lower. I can't say I noticed it being more or less hoppy, but I did notice it didn't seem quite as thick and chocolaty to me as before. I wondered if this had something to do with it being filtered, unlike the previous batch.

I never heard a specific number, but I did hear that a bunch of special barrel-aged beers will be released next year.

 

Is there an ETA for Lizard of Koz?

 

Sometime in December is what Founders said. Hopefully a bit earlier like some releases have been lately.

Over the summer I had a Founders rep tell me they were releasing a "version of KBS with vanilla and blueberries in November." I'm a little disappointed but still really want to give this a try. Can't wait for BB as usual though.

 

And I'm sitting here happy as can be that they left out the gross coffee!

This is indeed, for the most part, true. Backstage releases will simply be called BA releases next year, and there will be 6 I think. And CBS will be one of them at the end of 2017!

 

According to Founders' Facebook page, they are announcing the next release tomorrow.

What's the ETA on Backwoods Bastard, and how easy is it to pick up? First year I'll be of age when it's released.

 

Not sure where you're at in Michigan but it started hitting the the SE area the 3rd/4th week of October last year.

Founders facebook page states it will be in stores sometime in October. Time to make nice with your local retail shop. If memory serves me correct, Founders has a release day where you can purchase up to a case at Founders.
