I also reacted like a psycho who's had too much coffee. Sorry for jumping down your throat; I'm not really a psycho but I HAVE had too much coffee.

All this coffee talk makes me thirsty for champion ground.

Last year when champion ground was released, the beer of the weekend for me was the bourbon barrel naja, I'd love to see this again

It was available at the 8/6 release. I enjoyed it. Very approachable and refreshing. Would be a great beginner sour (IMO) for someone just getting into the style.

Completely agree. Just because a certain BA beer shouldn't be aged, it doesn't mean that it should go bad in less than a year from bottling. In addition, many BA beers DO improve with age, so a blanket statement that barrel-aged beers shouldn't be aged is simply wrong. In this case with Jackie O's, something obviously went wrong, and it will likely be addressed at some point.

And to the comment about posting on here and not contacting Jackie O's - I did contact them multiple times and still haven't received a response. They have always been (and will be) awesome, but it's a huge disappointment when a phenomenal beer doesn't taste the way you expect it should. I suspect, as with Bourbon County, that more and more people will find problems if they have bottles from 2015. It's inevitable.

Not to play devil's advocate, but I just cracked a BB Oil that's a year and a half old and it's tasting phenomenal.

How did you reach out? Twitter? Multiple times? No response? This post seems like a blanket post from someone who has not contacted us, (Jackie O's) or has had some experience with massive brewery recalls, a la Goose. There is much more to this post than explained above...

I know there have been infected JackieO's in the past, but everything I've ever had since my first bb matriarch back in 2010 has been great. Even my rum oil, which I did drink relatively quick and everyone I sent it too did as well, was awesome.

This beer by far was the best at the anniversary party last year.

I have addressed this in a personal message, and will not elaborate one more time. However, I have now received contact from Jackie O's and I am looking forward to how you will deal with the concern. I am not sure I understand the defensive nature of the response, however. Because I have (unfortunate) experience with Goose Island, my concern isn't credible? I would argue that my experience with infected Goose Island has enabled me to identify a horribly infected beer, which is exactly what the BBBM was that I consumed. What else would there be to this post? Shall I explain more? I have no intention of stirring the pot or anything else - I am simply bringing this up in the thread to 1) see if others had a similar experience and 2) to bring this up in case people are sitting on 2015 bottles that may go bad. Is this not the purpose of BA? To discuss and help out fellow BAs? Given that Jackie O's is following this, there is clearly a third benefit to this post, which is to provide information about your beer. I am looking forward to an assessment of this beer from Jackie O's. As I said before, they have and will continue to be a phenomenal brewery that makes amazing beer. Having lived next to the brewery, I also have personal attachment and desire to advocate for you/them. I love you guys!

Anyway BB Champion lingers around the brewery until next Saturday? Earliest I can get up to Athens...
