Very delish. Still a little green though. That one will be amazing after about a week or 2.

Definitely agree. It tastes like the flavors need a little more time to meld. DDHDMD is fantastic now, though.

Agree with the above sentiments. Just cracked into a Simcoe+Wai-iti. It's very good, but it still has a good amount of bitterness on the finish.

Then again, I'm coming off of a can DDH Double Mosaic Dream so my palette is wrecked.

First release for me in a few months, and wow what an easy trip. Got there at 11:15, got a 4-pack of each with 3 people in line in front of me. no real wait at all.

Head's up for Suffolk County BAs: Tropical Depression just tapped at Hoptron. They're doing growler fills as well.

DDH DMD on tap if you missed it.

...it took me about two months to realize that it's TOPICAL Depression and not Tropical Depression.

I feel bad about myself right now because I should feel bad about myself.

I'm pretty sure I posted it as Tropical as well as thinking it was.

As a data point, DDHDMD sold out around 12:40p.

Wish OH would lower limits when down to a small-ish number if cases. There were about 8-10 people in line when I got there and the announcement was made that only two cases of DDHDMD were left. I think the first two people on line basically bought it up. Also, there were people in line already holding bags of beers presumably getting more than the limit (maybe not, can't know for sure). Any way, I'm only complaining because I missed out (and it wasn't even on draft at that time, so couldn't even get a taste in the tap room).

A good amount of bitterness, is that a bad thing now?

Missed the ddhdmd cans but grabbed a growler of it. Tastes very similar to dmd but smells twice as good!

Maybe I didn't use the best choice of words, but my point remains. The bitterness is there, but it could use a bit of "rounding" before it reaches its prime. I'm certainly not opposed to IPAs having a bitter character. Hell, I'm probably in the minority when I say that I generally prefer Other Half's IPAs to Grimm's IPAs. It's just that Simcoe+Wai-iti doesn't have enough fruitiness to balance it out.

Life is good when you can roll in and buy of one the best TIPAS in the country with ease. Other Half is such a well run brewery, every two weeks they crank out great cans like clockwork. Hats off to everyone who works there, job well done.

And people get hyped up for the new stuff and collabs, but don't sleep on the other stuff, Green Diamonds I had today on tap was awesome.

Didn't pick up AGE, but overall my impressions:
Right now DDHDMD is drinking like one of the best beers I've ever had, my favorite OH beer so far and maybe even in my top 10 IPA/DIPAs. So much passionfruit, incredible aroma, just an amazing beer.
Simcoe-Wai-iti is also drinking well. I didn't think it was too green right now, definitely getting more citrus bitterness than tropical fruit, especially compared to DDHDMD, but an incredible beer (I find their double hop series all tend to have a similar flavor profile).
The Amarillo is good, but my least favorite by far. Incredibly dank to the point of being kind of a one trick pony. I still really like it, but I don't think it's in the same league as the above beers.
Overall a great release today, super easy! Here's to similar luck in 2 weeks for mylar bags!

Does anyone else's DMD cans from the last release have sediment in them? Drinking one right now and a ton of floaties and is very malty. Hopefully I just have a bad can and the rest I have are ok.

I remember being on line for Finbacks Apple Brandy BQE release and a couple guys were talking about getting back on line for double allotments. They talked about how they'd done it for the regular BQE release. It definitely happens though it's a really crappy thing to do in my opinion.
