Hopefully Friday. Saturday I'm apple picking up in NY. Of course, we usually stop by Rushing Duck (the men only ha) after so that is a consolation.

This is what I posted on another forum:

At 8:30, there were 30 people there. 100 by 9:30. 200-250 by 10:30. I'd say that everyone that was in line by noon got their allotment of Fifth, but not far after (supposedly 500 people got Fifth).

The line moved fairly fast considering, but now imagine all those people PLUS those that skipped the line for just pours waiting in ONE line for samples!

All in all, everyone got any pours they wanted if they were there at noon, and the majority of the day went smoothly, but the samples line was absurdly unorganized.

No complaints. If you got there by 2:30 (when I left) almost no bottle line. Full allotments and beers still on tap. Can't fault anyone for the amount of people getting samples. Very well run day.

First Kane event I was able to attend.
Got there around 930-10 the line moved a little slow but it was smooth no complaints. Sample line was terrible but the beers were very good that I had, the people were polite. Overall I agree it went well and "the fifth" was a great addition. I can't wait to crack into one as an attempt to convince my business partners to move into NJ lol

I don't usually go to these kind of big anniversary events because of the crowds, but my buddy and I took a chance because we saw the draft list on Friday. Both of us have never tried any version of ANTEAD (also love both of the Brunch beers) so our plan was to skip out on bottles and just get on line for draft.

We showed up around 11 and the bottle line was already wrapped in front of the main entrance door. We were literally the only two people on line for draft until about 25 minutes before opening when a few others joined us. When the doors opened, we went in and bought our tickets, then each got a pour of ANTEAD. Went on line again immediately and got 2014 vanilla ANTEAD. Hopped back on line with those and got a Mexican Brunch pour. Because we were one of the first ones inside we never had to wait in line for more than a minute or two for our three pours and were even able to grab a barrel to drink on. Within maybe a half hour, the line for pours was maybe 20-25 minutes as people would get one pour then immediately have to get back in the long line. If you got there around 1, for you to use all four tickets you'd probably be there for a few hours as the lines kept growing.

We left around 2 and I had to use the portable stall outside since the inside bathroom had its own line. When I got out there, we noticed that the line for bottles had pretty much died so we waited 15 minutes and were able to get two bottles each of the Fifth before we left.

We got lucky with how we played it. Had people known that bottles would be easily attainable within a few hours I'm sure the draft-only line would've been pretty deep early on. I still say they should've allowed people TWO 4oz. pours at a time considering how bad the lines were.

As for the Fifth, we tried one last night. Those expecting similarities to Brunch might be slightly disappointed as this is more of a chewy, chocolatey stout with hints of bourbon and assorted barrel qualities. It was delicious and warmed up well as one might expect with a boozy high-ABV beer. Excellent stuff.

It's posted and it's not a strong list. Would have been nice if they spread out those great beers for the weekend

Probably my favorite Kane beer to date. Opened one last weekend and it really is phenomenal. Happy to still have four bottles but don't see them lasting very long.

I have one bottle left. I'll be so sad when I drink the last of it.

Does anyone know if Kane eventually plans on Distributing cans of Head High? I thought I remember hearing that they eventually planned to when the first started canning it.

i believe they still do... thought the plan was to send some cases out to the shops that get kegs for growlers/crowlers etc... much like Carton does

I think it's just a matter of time... i was under the impression that it would be at the earliest the fall but probably more something in the winter....I'm sure once they have cans just sitting around and they aren't moving out of the brewery at as quick of a pace they will then send them out... at least that is how I would do it if i was running things... what do i know though

    well this sounds delightful

The brewery is open tonight for tours and tastings from 5-8pm. HopLab: Motueka is the latest addition to the series. This 7.4% India Pale Ale uses a similar malt profile to most of our IPA, but we added large doses of New Zealand Motueka and Austrian Galaxy hops to the kettle and dry-hopping. The combination creates a unique tropical fruit and citrus flavor with hints of lemon/lime.

    Samples | Growlers:
    Head High
    Single Fin
    Drift Line
    HopLab: Motueka

    Samples:
    Ripple
    Cortijo
    Galaxy Head High
    Sunday Brunch

    Cans:
    Head High

    Bottles:
    1825

    Kegs:
    Head High
