Ram Brewery Side Note Releases

This is not Treehouse, there is not going to be 550 unique visitors to Ram on a Saturday morning. Im sure some people (hoarders) are going to go through the line twice because 8 16 oz beers isnt enough for them but you will be fine.

 

I hope. Not a big deal if I miss out. Went to VT back in August, so I've my fair share of east coast IPAs this fall

 

Like a few others, I'm going to take the chill option. I'll probably take my 3 year old with me in the afternoon sometime when the line dies down. Similar to Greg, no FOMO here. If it sells out, there are still plenty of other options available.

i plan on showing up around 1045 - after seeing the last Juicy release (when it was by itself) there was definitely a line but nothing insane. The crowlers/howlers were released a week (i believe) later so thats why they lasted so long. i wanted to stock up but at @18/4pack i dont think im going to get more than 3 packs if i can and thats only because i added some bottles for a trade and my buddy loved it so need to get him some more. if i was just me i would only be getting a 4pack. With Lizard King and NvU so readily available, its hard to justify paying double the price.

 

I'm going to show up at 9am...not to "double dip", but because it's a haul from Rogers Park to Schaumburg & I want to get back into the city at a reasonable hour to finally try this stuff!!

 

in the past @shaun_the_brewer didnt mind "double dipping" as long as you went to the end of the line

 

Good! I only buy beer so I can trade it for beer that is more hyped/rare so I want as much of the stuff as possible so I can land some whales.

What are the odds on some of the cans lasting until Sunday? I'm flying in from Texas on Sunday and hoping to get some cans to bring back...any local advice? Thanks!

 

Find someone who will be there on Saturday to trade with to guarantee it, or just wait and see for Sunday and keep an eye on this thread for what is left. Not sure there is really any special secret here, although I've never been to one of these releases.

 

I would guess pretty slim

Will there being any of the Ram stouts tapped tomorrow? Never been to one of the releases before

 

There hasn't been any official info about what is going to be on tap tomorrow. I do think they plan on tapping some Juicy for the release. Hopefully they tap a Side Note stout as well.

 

In post #175 above, @shaun_the_brewer says he'll have at least one keg of Juicy for sure, but hopes to have more, depending on how canning goes. I think they're canning it all today, so I wouldn't be surprised to see a social media post tonight or tomorrow morning where he gives some more concrete information. I'll be there either way, but if a stout is tapped, that would be awesome, as I've never had any of this stuff and would love to try a couple different things.

 

We will for sure have a few barrels of juicy on tap. There will also be a saison with lemon grass and candied ginger that tasted great this morning and then a nice stout we did one oeg of as a thank you to everyone for coming. Say hi tomorrow! Cheers!
