Oh man!! So much for this being a pool beer!

Still sounds pretty interesting and I'll definitely look forward to trying it!

It sure would be great to have a NE style IPA available fresh locally. But that ABV is scary. Count on me to try it though.

Really hope they continue to experiment and get some nice beers in the 7-8% range where most of the NE IPA's are clocking in at.

Honestly, I don't know why everybody is so enamored with "New England Style IPA's." Hell, a few years ago that meant slightly more malty and much sweeter than "West Coast IPA's". Now it means something completely different. There are a ton of excellent IPA's made (many in Texas), that don't have to fall into these categories. Oasis He-Man Session Hater might be the closest to what you all want, and is fantastic. Though anything from Austin Beer Works Heavy Machinery, to Lone Pint Yellow Rose, or Hops & Grain Mosaic really are great as well. I guess they don't have that hype factor anymore though...shrug.

As for this release, I'll give it a fare shake if I see it (being in Houston, I would not count on it though). Hopefully it is not as messy as something like Founders Devil Dancer.

I agree about He-man Session Hater. I grabbed 3 pints of it last night, such a wonderful IPA. I rate it next to Yellow Rose. Hopefully Oasis continues to brew it.

Hoping this is available when I am there in a month. Or might have to set some IP trades up for anything that has been interesting lately.

Any of this making its way to Houston?

It seems like people still use the term "East Coast" IPA to refer to the more malt forward DFH 60min types of IPAs. NEIPA has definitely become it's own thing.

True. Maybe I was just using the two terms interchangeably a few months ago...still don't get all the hype about these?

Correct me if I'm wrong but apart from dankasaurus I'd be hard pressed to name any other TX IPAs that are like the juicy, hazy NE ones. Nothing wrong with the existing TX IPAs but a TX made NE style IPA is definitely welcome.
