Now I'm really disappointed I missed this. I'd like to know if it's actually bad or just different than what people are used to from Mago.

Also two other things: didn't get there until 630 and the line was super short and I had beers within probably 10 or 15 minutes. There was enough left that I'm pretty sure they moved it to behind the bar.

    Clourison had just sold out.

There was still Helles cans left from last week! I got a 4-pack of that too and I'm happy to report it's a super solid lager.

Does anyone know if anything is making it till the opening today? Curiosity is killing me.

They just sent out a reply on instagram. The gist of which is to let it sit for a bit but ways to get in touch if you are unhappy with this beer.

Good on them to reply but wow, Tired Hands may be weird but their fans are way weirder.

The response on Instagram to me sounds like they're just deflecting the anger of their customers. It's almost like they're thinking that they can just tell people to wait on it and hope people forget how terrible this batch was because they know that in two weeks all the people complaining will already have 4 new cans of Tired Hands and they'll forget this mess ever happened.

It just isn't adding up to me. This beer isn't just "too hoppy" which is the way they put it. I've never in my life had a beer that I thought was disgusting fresh and 2 weeks later thought it was great. Aging beer brings our different flavors and mellows others but a couple weeks in a can will not magically make a crappy beer a great beer.

FYI, just called, Mago sold out, 4 cases of Pineal left. I'm going to venture to say the Pineal will be gone in a few minutes.

Pineal is still amazing. It's one of my favorite Tired Hands beers.
I'm with you. It's not a surprise that they responded this way (it's what their stooges on instagram were posting last night) but it is a shitty response.

If Tired Hands doesn't want to admit they made a mistake then I guess this is what they think good beer tastes like.

Agreed. I was actually reluctant to post that because I know someone will jump down my throat about it. There are way too many people who back every beer they make, every word they say, and everything they do without even considering that maybe not everyone feels the same way they do and that's exactly what Tired Hands wants.

Just looking at Insta, there are tons of people complaining and then there are pockets people telling them they're wrong and I've even seen it here. How can one person tell another person that they're wrong about what they're tasting? This reminds me of all the people who claimed that BCBCS was not infected and that it was just the type of coffee used that gave it that sweet/sour taste. Right...

As has already been mentioned if Jean/Tired Hands was unwilling to make official online statements about exploding growlers (which is a genuine safety issue) what would make you think they would openly discuss a beer batch "mistake".

The bottom line here is indeed the bottom line (i.e., money) and as long as customers are willing for fork over $22 for a 4-pack they will continue to operate as usual.

    Cheers!

ppl who are sitting on a 4pack, keep us posted on how much more 'luscious' this beer becomes over time.

the instagram post is a pretty arrogant response. being in a long term relationship, i've learned its never truly apologetic to start a post or statement with 'listen'. if TH brewed a standard/drinkable IPA people would go apeshit over it. now they have 3/4ths of their loyal customers telling them a beer is trash and they're like 'its supposed to be really bitter and needs to mellow out! we'll let you know next time.' I think the supporters of TH have a p. good idea of what an IPA and a beer should taste like.

i also can't believe that brewing a horrible beer still makes this tradeable! this culture is ridiculous.

this is what you get when you line up for a beer you haven't tried people. I'd be pissed too if I went but really, you win some and you lose some. I've never had anything but great interactions with TH staff. Hel, for getting the wrong four packs once Jean personally gave me a free extra four pack of the beer I should've got plus a free can of double mango shake. Our hobby is getting little too serious these days.

Couln't agree with you more. I thought their statement was total BS. They never admitted to making a mistake. Every IPA that is made we are told to drink as fresh as possible but oh, wait, no, this one you actually have to wait a week to drink. Its not our fault we made a bad beer and put it out to early its your fault for drinking it.
