So, are you suggesting that Tired Hands should have permitted this latest batch of Mago Tago to condition for more time before selling this beer just like Trillium did for Headroom?

    Cheers!

You sound like a lawyer examining a witness when you ask people questions.

Well, I can assure you that I am not a lawyer. I am an engineer which is 180 degrees out of phase with being a lawyer.

Simply just trying to clarify what folks are trying to state via their posts.

    Cheers!

To anyone with Mago Tago cans, this has been completely blown out of proportion. It's more bitter than intended and don't let the fruitiness shine through with how the bitterness lingers but it is drinkable and actually not that bad. Give cans a little time to mellow out and the should be fine!

Drinking Mago Tago, and yes I will finish the can, cheers!

It's really not. For $22 you shouldn't have to wait a week(s) for a beer to be ready. That should be on tired hands. If they say it needs time to become "luciois" then it should have stay in the tanks until it was ready to be sold as a respectable beer. I have one can that I'm going to give a few weeks but they dropped the ball on this.

With how many people are saying they just drain poured, giving it one star on other sites and it's the worst thing they ever had, they are completely blowing it out of proportion. I do get the arguement your making, should they had sold it yesterday, probably not. They did drop the ball and it is their fault for putting themselves in this situation, but I feel even if they explained what happened yesterday and said they are selling it in two weeks people would still be pissed.

Have to admit, this batch of MagoTago sounds delicious! Love me a bitter, green, resiny IPA.

In other news just had my last Pineal from the 8/24 canning, that beer is magical, this one came just in time.

I would say it's much more piney than resiny right now, but if you love big, bitter IPAs it's worth opening a can.

What kind of lawyer says "cheers!" at the end of every statement, though?

Look at it this way.. you get the anticipation/excitement of aging a beer on a super accelerated timeframe, haha.

Those who are waiting a few weeks, are you keeping them refrigerated or letting them sit out? (Does one way or the other let them mellow faster?)

Anyone else thought that it wasn't actually that bad and rather delicious up front until the end. The backend had a rather unpleasant aftertaste like you're chewing on medicine tablets as it went down. The worst part for me was the lingering harsh aftertaste that just hangs on forever.

I maintain that it will be really, really good by middle of next week.

Im more curious than anything that's why im planning on hanging onto my remaining cans. Maybe ill try once every week to see how/if it progresses/develops

This might serve multiple purposes. Although Tired Hands has never taken any suggestions seriously.

    1. Perhaps this will lead to canned beers being available on tap while the cans ready so that people may form an opinion on whether they wish to purchase in cans after tasting on tap. However, considering the mass trading of these, a lot of people would not want any reduction in trade value from less than stellar on tap reviews.

2- Allowing cans to settle will allow for more time to consider allocations and timing for arrival, etc. I assume that many might already be in the car before they know whether the yield is disclosed and allocations stated. This way people should have plenty of advance notice of all particulars.

But again Tired Hands doesn't care or listen so at least I got some keyboard practice in if nothing else.

I just wish they would really dial in and focus on quality control. Maybe my mind is playing tricks on me, but the pictures of pours from the canning this week look NOTHING like the beer that was on tap at the cafe the week prior. How does that work?

I agree with you here. I have had too many Tired Hands beers that suffered from diacetyl (buttery flavor) over the past 6 months.

Something is amiss at the brewery and it would be better for all concerned if the beers could be produced in a consistent (as in good tasting) manner.

    Cheers!
