As an FYI, neither were on tap when I was there on Saturday. You can swing up to Watermark in Stevensville (exit 22) to try their stuff as well. They had a NE-style IPA last weekend - I thought it was OK, nothing great.

Agreed. I know The Juice is Loose was mentioned prior, so I thought I'd mention Obligatory.

The fact that it was available days after its release, with no limits, and no lines made the drive worth it for me.

So I'm a dope and don't follow this stuff, but all of the Transient beers are only available in their taproom? And they don't list on their site what's available?

Yea, Im not holding my breath, but I'll check. They did have a firkin of Obligatory on tap recently, so maybe?

Some of their stuff (mostly sours) do see limited distribution. The cans have not seen any distribution as far as I'm aware. And check their Facebook page, there is more information on there.

Had the Hubbards Cave last night. Looks spot on to a hazy NE style beer, taste is similar too. The carbonation was good, the head was not as creamy or thick though. But I agree, if that beer had a snazzy label it would be hard to find. Tastes and looks just like Trillium.

General FYI for those in or near the Loop. Binny's Grand just got in Stratus the Hailstorm NE-style DIPA as well as Nimbus the NE-style APA from Hailstorm. The Nimbus was canned 9/28.

Damn. I've bought wayyyy too much beer this week (couldn't hold off on a second bottle of Fresh V4!), otherwise I'd love to grab Nimbus. Curious how it matches up to Cumulus.

I liked Cumulus & didn't like Stratus...I suppose Nimbus will be the tie-breaker.

Agreed. It's hard to say I was let down by Stratus because it's a good beer regardless of whether it qualifies as the NE style, but it just didn't measure up to how good Cumulus was.

Agreed. Consenus seems to be that they did a better job with Cumulus representing the NE STYLE (if you will) than Stratus. At least it is a step forward in this regard, though. Hailstorm makes some good shit so I would expect that they modify and improve upon Stratus (hopehopehope?)

Call Transient and ask. Maybe they will get sick of all the calls and start updating their site.

Alright fellas, I'm on board, Hubbards Cave Fresh IV was awesome. Buddy and I split a bottle last night and both loved it.

Certainly well made; I enjoyed it. However, it further proved that I will never love a beer with a strong Mosaic presence...

I'd love to post my thoughts on Juicy but I took one look at the line and the rain & drove back to the city. Maybe next time....

I can't remember if I posted my Fresh v4 thoughts, but I thought it was pretty good. Didn't blow my mind, but I think I'm getting fatigue from these style of beers...I can't seem to place much of a difference in them. I will say that this didn't have that rind bitterness that I got in so many of the Trillium, Treehouse and some other styled beers before.

Juicy on tap today, and it was definitely juicy (also w/o the rind bitterness), but back to the point above about me getting fatigued by these. Nothing really made this stand out to me.

Perhaps I need to get away from these styles for a bit, as I much prefer things like Ninja vs. Unicorn, Navaja and Todd the Axeman. Gotta re-focus on the things I really enjoy!

Drinking what you enjoy rather than what is hyped is so 5 years ago.

I always enjoy your sarcasm, but occasionally its better than others. This one made me laugh out loud.
