Crying into my Bud Light, watching my shitty Bills with my fellow Buffalonians every Sunday

Saturday I get home for the 7-8 o'clock College games, and I'm usually sipping on IPAs

Usually go with a seasonal in the early to late afternoon: Boulevard, SA, Point, Schlafly, or Dundee's Oktoberfest. Maybe a Breckenridge Autumn Ale. However, as it gets later, I knock back a few macro light beers to close it out.

Even OJ Simpson agrees: everyone knows the Bills are chokers, not slashers. :grinning:

After 1-2 cups of coffee I like to start the brews with something with coffee influence.

FBS, or this year stashed Sumatra Mountain, MT Black House, Stone Coffee Milk Stout

Then shift to a lower ABV pilsner, pale or Oktoberfest brew.

Wussie, Nooner, Trummer, Pivo, or Full Sail Pils for a few examples.

After that, depends on how the game is going.

Good = APAs/IPAs, such as Sculpin, Racer 5, MT canned seasonal, Wanderlust, Born Yesterday etc. (would love to have Zombiedust or PseudoSue for said situation)

Bad = something VERY bitter, (Ruination used to be my go to) Hopsickle, etc. Or a BIG barrel influenced porter/stout. Too many to choose.

Tailgating would be a completely different story to a lower ABV degree.

That Deschutes, black but porter. I had it and I thought it tasted like watered down ass, the name is very fitting.

Don't even want to know how you have a frame of reference for this comparison. So what other year-round or Fall seasonal porter do you prefer?

Only ones in the same ballpark for my palate are: Eddy Fitz, Cutthroat, and Founders. Not counting barrel-influenced or imperial porters.

If at home, pretty much anything from my cellar of favorite stouts to NBS fodder. When at the local sports bar because the damn Vikings are shown vs my Packers, I usually don't drink because they have mostly BMC, and a few near-craft or ex-craft selections I don't care for. Then I drink diet Pepsi.

Football Sunday is a day for trying new beers (whales) and sharing. My boys come over and we all try and outdo the other guy. Today I have wicked weed beers, and a crowler of larceny IPA from the answer brew pub. If we get tired of going hard, I'll switch to a main stay like fresh squeezed IPA from Deschutes.
