I did think it was weird that the first few people I saw coming out all had three 4-packs. The guys in front of me noticed too. Maybe their mule was lagging a bit, I don't know.

I answered my own question. They have it still and it's excellent

I've had this beer. It's really good. I tried to make it to the release but just couldn't do it. Tried trading for it locally but had some guy basically tell me he would need me to send him $80 of special release beer because that's what it's worth on the "secondary market" price. Maybe this isn't the right forum but this site just isn't what it used to be. I've had some incredible experiences with people being over generous with their beer from their local areas and they were proud and wanted to share it with the rest of the community. That being said @shaun_the_brewer i hope you take this into consideration the next time there is a release. If not, who am I (I'm a nobody) but people notice these sorts of things. Cheers to all of the good BA's out there.

I couldn't agree more. The trading game has changed, especially in the Chicagoland area. I too have had these same experiences with people. These people purposely load up just because they are trying to maximize value, some care about the beer...A lot only care about what it's "worth"...if someone asked me for $80 worth of specialty brews for a $18 4 pack IPA...I'd tell them to go pound sand... I mean that as no disrespect to Shaun's beer..it's delicious....
Definitely cheers to all the wonderful people still remembering what this community is about. sharing beers with others from around the country and not screwing people.

Trading game indeed is very depressing. I only trade $4$ as I am looking to try non-local beers and trying to promote and share the amazing local brew. Anything more is just encouraging this hoard for value behavior, and I will never buy anything off that second hand online store that has every beer overpriced 3-5 times original cost. Just sad.

Thanks to @Coirm for snagging a 4-pack for me. It absolutely lives up to the hype. I got there around 12:30. The cans were sold out by then. What stuck out to me was how absolutely trashed the outside was. Bottles and cans everywhere. Nice work, bottle sharers.

Especially with garbage cans placed 50 feet North and South of where most of the mess was. Wont be surprised if they stop allowing that.

Way to keep it classy pigs.....that's horrible. How hard is it to pick up your bottles and walk them to a can?

When I arrived around 12:15 p.m. it seemed like two dudes, who didn't appear to be RAM employees, were cleaning up the entire area and disposing of empty bottles. Cheers to those dudes.

I think people were trying to execute the 'fallen soldiers' type of thing like at Dark Lord Day, but it didn't quite work. Ended up being just a bunch of bottles laying around, some standing and certainly all over the place.

On a positive note, Shaun said in an IG comment "next up Morning Fog: a mosaic hopped NE style DIPA".

    No timeline given

    Looking forward to it

I remember that people in the beginning of the line at S'more Luv were attempting this and someone from RAM quickly came out and told them not to line up bottles and to throw them away.

How often do they release new beers? I found out a good friend of mine lives 15 minutes from the Ram restaurant so it's pretty tempting to try and go.

So, went to RAM for lunch today and had a Juicy on draft. Good, but not great in my opinion. Looks the part of the NE style ipa, kinda gets there taste wise, and falls a bit short on the finish too. Definitely better than any other RAM offering and I'd buy a 4 pack at a $10-$11 price point, but this beer is not worth what's being asked of it on the open market.....which is pretty darn laughable!!!

Have you had any other NE STYLE offerings in these parts to form some basis of comparison? Just curious because you happen to be the first posting I have seen which talks about it as less than world-class (at least in Chicago market for this "style"). Thanks for the honest post! I hope you rate this beer as well, sir. It seems that RAM is putting out the best beer in this style...

In these parts yes..have had all of the Mikerphone offerings except SS#1, the Hubbards Cave offerings, the two new hailstorms, etc. I liked it better than the Hubbards Cave and Hailstorm and maybe a couple of the Mikerphone's. I was going to head out and grab some Sat afternoon and heard it sold out, then read every post here talking about how great it was, then saw FT posts looking for the likes of DBH and thought this must be the best IPA ever!!! I get NE ipa's regularly and just feel it didn't compare to Trillium, Tree House, the Alchemist, Lawson's, etc.

And that's a dick move even at DLD. I don't understand why its so hard for people to throw their shit away.

At DLD I can somewhat understand seeing as even clean-up crews leave them, and sometimes place them in a row, while picking up other garbage. But at events like Juicy release, with such limited space and all, I'm not sure it's a good idea. I wouldn't be surprised if they put an end to that after this past Saturday.
